Painting Alaskan Camper Badges

What's the preferred means to paint Alaskan Camper badges?

I've been poking about at it with exceptionally small brushes using model paint and have concluded that there must be a better - and much more accurate - way to get it done. Any suggestions out there in Alaskan Camper Discussion-land? Thx in advance...

No sir, they came on the camper. Intact and (almost) flawless. Luck of the draw i suppose...

I pulled them as part of the reclamation and have cleaned up/painted them; using a non-UV reactive model glue. I sprayed them with a clear coat earlier and will do a second coat tomorrow. *Hopefully* I'll reskin/paint the old girl this month and be able to remount the badges then.

Hi Denver,

I honestly just used whatever I had lying around. I had a Testors auto detail kit with assorted colors and just went with it. So the gold on the antlers is probably turn signal color, the red might be tail light color, etc...But really, just spray them white, then paint the things green red and yellow/brown/gold, whatever you like or can find. I used a clear acrylic in a can to seal them up once everything was dry.
 
Kansafornia: Thank you for posting the photo of the Testor paint bottles, but the photo resolution is too low for me to read the colors when the photo is enlarged. I'll just go to a local hobby shop and buy some enamel paint, then coat the emblems with clear acrylic when I'm finished painting.
 
the 50’s emblems were aluminum….are they going to offer those?

BTW…..emblem painting and detailing really shows how much you care about your Alaskan….kudos!
