I have an ATC Bobcat with no issues, but in the back of my mind I am always worried. My truck is a 2018 GMC Canyon short bed with an ATC shell model. Any idea why GM would say no slide in truck campers?

I am way under the payload according to the weight badges. The last Tacoma I looked at said payload was 990LBS my truck is stamped at 1,353LBS I see campers on Tacoma's every day and I have not seen another Colorado/Canyon with a ATC/FWC in person. My shell says its 680LB with Jacks and I took those off.

The article you linked covers it. They didn’t design for it (stupidly) and based on the person bending their frame it seems like it’s under designed for that demand. They’re too deep in so they just say no.
