RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bracing corners on back door

Anyone have a good fix for my back door falling apart. The corners are separating and I'm thinking of bracing the corners with L brackets and riveting them in. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bags, yes or no?

Gene's right about the road to Gonzaga except that as of 1/13/13 the pavement is now 3 miles from the Pemex in Gonzaga. It was 12 miles from Gonzaga when we were there last spring. True and too bad. We bought a little house in the south end of Gonzaga. The pavement has come to a stop for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bags, yes or no?

When the welds break you might have wished you had chosen the bolts. At least you can replace them when they break. Good luck and please send us a trip report when you get back. There are more whales than ever in the lagoons. Or course I mean after Scammon and others almost killed them...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bags, yes or no?

Thanks. That's what I wanted to hear. The other side is missing a bolt and the others are rusted and are going to fail sooner or later. One less thing to break, I'll be going airbag less.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bags, yes or no?

I have a '97 Dodge 2500. I've had Air-Lift air bags under it for about 9 years. They were originally put in for a heavier and taller camper. A Callen. Well, I just got back from Baja and during the trip, one side busted the brackets off and bolts broke and air bag does not hold air anymore...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing inside cabinets

Mines a '94 Grandby. With an icebox ( broke apart and I removed it ), sink w/hand pump, and stove w/propane cabinet. So I have the basic stuff. It should be a no brainer to take it out.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing inside cabinets

Has anyone removed the cabinets and sink and stove? I'm sure someone has. I was thinking about all the wasted space of that stuff. I never use the sink or water tank. I've used the stove twice I think. I want to keep the front berth and couch for my kids to sleep on. I ran into a guy down...

Not paved to Gonzaga yet. About 15 miles of dirt from where the pavement ends. They are working real hard on getting the road done though.

I can't figure out why my back left storage area door has drifted so far to the right. I have to slam the door shut with my palm and it's getting worse. I tried hammering the hinge to the left, didn't work. It's also has resistance just to get it almost closed. My back door formica is just...

Just got back from the best surf I've had at this place. Family loved it. Only saw one other four wheel down there. No issues, felt safe the whole time, like the old days of Baja. Here are the pix. https://picasaweb.google.com/114630261875012854928/BCSClassicTrip?authkey=Gv1sRgCOGVx4Dbpd7CDg

Trip down about half way. Spring break for my five year old. Thinking maybe crowded beach. Showed up with two other camps there. After two days, they were both gone. Had this place to ourselves for five days.. PRICELESS. Still can't believe it. With waves too. So, if the pictures show...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Should I be concerned?

Everything I've ever JB welded has come apart eventually. I can't imagine using it to fix frame pieces. Especially for roads like that in Baja. So I guess I'll tear out the panel and have a look. Hopefully I can rivet it with brackets. Thanks for the replies.

I can't see a picture of the cracks you speak of from the link. If you are referring to cracks above or around the door frame.....then YES....you should be concerned. It means the frame has cracked under the skin and it needs to be addressed. Attached is a picture of a crack that formed above...

We just got back from a remarkable trip to Baja. The whales are amazing. They want to meet you. At least once in your life, see the whales at Scammon's lagoon. The weather was perfect. The waves were also. We will go back next year to see the whales again. Our next trip down is April 2nd...
