I was out and about away from home, traveling and camping with truck and trailer, crossed the USA twice, for 6+ months straight last year, and I plan to do something similar beginning next month (probably). So, whatever truck I have will definitely get plenty of use.

I've said in recent years: "A replacement for my gas-hog 2000 F250, 6.8L V10 rig will never pay for itself in fuel $aving$." And that's still true...but I think I've decided I don't care about the $$-based argument for sticking with the 21-year old rig. I'm very close to deciding on a 2021 Ford...

I turned my furnace on this morning (i.e., turned on the thermostat's winter mode) -- been off since May. It was 56°F in my house before I turned on the heat. I think the low this morning in Bend was about 36F.

We ended up getting just 0.1 inches in the Bend area -- early yesterday morning. And it was very windy as the front passed through.

I don't think the Delorme are as good as Benchmark. AND YET, despite believing that, I have bought Delorme atlases for all of the Southern states to cover my travels there in the past couple of years. Definitely better than nothing.

This morning -- for the first time in a LONG time -- I left the house in long-sleeve shirt, long pants and full-coverage shoes... and NOT because I was going to a wedding, funeral, court appearance nor to work a shift on the fire line. Yep, it's fall in Central Oregon!
