FWIW: I used to use 2x6s in a range of lengths (in order to build a pyramid). But I switched to Lynx Levelers (2 sets of 10) many years ago -- which are MUCH lighter than wood, and I've never looked back.

A couple of days ago it was too chilly and gray and breezy (for me) here in South Carolina to paddle my kayak. That is, it wasn't appealing to do so. So I made cornbread instead. But this forecast is more like it -- why I came down here! Looks good for paddling in local salt marsh and tidal...

High winds -- mostly out of the West -- were at my back from central Wyoming to central Nebraska today. Those tailwinds along I-80 boosted my truck's gas mileage by almost 20%! Yesterday I drove through off-and-on rain -- mostly light -- from Nevada to Wyoming. There were a few snowflakes mixed...

Per gallon of regular gas I paid today: $3.809 in Carlin, Nevada $3.999 in Wendover, Utah $3.599 in Evanston, Wyoming I get lots of opportunities to sample gas prices when driving my F250 with 6.8L V10 and pulling my travel trailer... :rolleyes:

I went out for lunch today, and I wore long pants...but a short-sleeve shirt and sandals. One handy thing about the cold season: Wearing a jacket provides more pockets for carrying things when out and about.

We have a (relative) heat wave in store for the next couple of days. Not freezing or raining or snowing makes it easier for me to finish prepping and packing my rig for travel.

Yep, me too. It might be kinda fun, for a change, to be like one of those oddball time zones. Such as Afghanistan, which is +4:30 hours from UTC...or Newfoundland, which is -3:30 hours from UTC... Or the really wacky Chatham Islands (NZ), which are +12:45 hours from UTC. ...those guys are REAL...

Yeah, that's my take on the situation. I've bought my last three vehicles -- including my 2000 F250 -- through a 'no-haggle but great-price' route: Either through the "fleet department" or "Internet sales" or Truecar. There may be savings to be had if I work at it...but not as much or as...
