Just six days left before the start of (meteorological) summer. And if this forecast holds, looks like it will start full speed. I know that low 90s would be considered mild for summer in a lot of the West, but it's moderately hot for Bend.

I haven't noticed any of the yellow residue around here yet. It's juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) pollen that I find annoying. I'm not allergic to it, but the spiky balls of pollen still poke and irritate my eyes when it's heavy.

I bet P-pine pollen could be an important part of a vegan diet.

So they're not just good for bacon, ham and truffle-hunting -- cool!

Looks like a great and fun rig, Ted! On another RV forum I've read lots of praise for the Omnia Oven. I've been using my Instant Pot as a sort-of oven -- works OK for cornbread and cake...but I think I may be adding the Omnia to my ovenless RV bag of tricks.

I've read the same thing about shortage of fuel-truck drivers. I'm thinking I should offer my services to help out the country. Now that I've towed a travel trailer across the country, there and back -- twice, I think I'm ready for driving the big rigs. B)

I didn't actually experience that temperature myself -- I was driving home from my long, long trip. But when I got home tonight, that's what they said on the local TV weather -- close to a record but not quite. But a cold front is moving in... In a couple of days the highs will be in the low 60s.

Today in Bend we had our warmest temperature of the year so far: 86°F.
