My Winnipeg friend tells me that the $2 coin is known as a "toonie". A $2 coin?! Dang, it's like a whole other country up there!

A friend of mine lives in Winnipeg, Canada, and this morning I checked my AccuWeather app to see what weather was in store up there today: Huh...loonies?? Don't they come in all sizes? A little more research: Ahhh... they mean: "size of quarters"!

Looks like we got a few days with un-summery weather here in Bend. Normal/average high temperature for these dates is mid-70s.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current Spike in Gas Prices

Thanks guys. I've already driven it quite a ways, including 200 miles towing my trailer, and all seems to work the way it should. Knock on wood... I'd forgotten how much I like driving that truck!

This was actually just a gas-price sighting. It got better in Del Rio, TX (another border town), where I filled up my just reacquired F150: $2.949/gal

Today, June 1, is the first day of meteorological summer. But...I left the house at 11am (for REI) and wore long pants and a lightweight jacket...so I guess today is one of those that "aren't" (summer). -_-

A similar change up here, Mr. 3pin. A variable couple of weeks ahead, but mostly at or below seasonal temperatures -- with some "weather" at times. I have my windows closed, furnace running and limbs covered this morning. (but I don't plan to reset the ceiling fan to winter direction)

I'm wearing shorts today -- the first time in Bend this year. Yesterday it was also warm enough for shorts... but I guess I wasn't psychologically ready yet. :D Update: In another mark of the seasons today, I reversed the direction that my living room ceiling fan rotates, so that now it...

I opened windows and doors of my house today to let spring air flow through, the first time this year that I felt it was warm enough do do that. I think today is the warmest day we've had: about 75.

A couple of days ago I was in San Antonio, TX, and it was 89°F. Tonight I'm in Green River, UT... and wondering if the way west of here tomorrow will be as wintery as forecast, and how will the roads be...? This I have learned and know to be true: Different places have different weather.

Yesterday I paid $2.999/gal for regular in Texas on I-10, west of Houston. Today I paid $2.899/gal in Louisiana on I-10, just east of the Texas border.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spring thing

In late January I put my travel trailer in storage in San Antonio, TX, so I could fly home for a couple of weeks as a "break" from my winter wander through the South -- to go through my mail, see friends, etc. I spent the night before the flight home in a hotel in San Antonio. During that night...
