RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SOLD 1979 Four Wheel Fleet in Colorado Springs $500

This pic is the same camper (but freshly painted) on a 6.5 bed F150.. you can see platform to make it clear the side rails (which is nice for storage).. That camper was gutted and rebuilt without amenities (just a portable heater and coleman stove).. was about 650-700 lbs..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West *SOLD* 2010 - Four Wheel Camper Hawk - $3,300

I hope so.. seeing as a 2002 is currently listed for 7750.. and a 2009 Eagle was listed for 9500 and sold (maybe for less).. a 2010 Hawk for $3300 was waaaayyyyyy underpriced..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone else looking forward to the FWC Tesla Cybertruck edition?

That is probably empty.. with a camper, add a little wind and cold...some mountains.. and you probably can go 200 miles.. 36 gallon tank in F150.. easily gets me 500+ miles per tank, with camper..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To build or to rebuild... That is the question

Without having to redo the canvas it should be a pretty easy build.. I was able to get the floor pack done quick and I am a hack, so with your skills it should go quick. I don't leave mine on much as I need the truck for work.. honestly, after doing it a few times, I can get that thing on and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To build or to rebuild... That is the question

I have lots of thoughts..... and opinions I basically got the same thing, but mine was much worse.. once I realized it was a total do over, I just gutted it and built it the way I wanted. Was hoping to keep the ceiling headliner, but it just had a nasty smell, so that had to go but that enabled...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To build or to rebuild... That is the question

My opinion Find a crappy, beat to **** FWC and rebuild it.. That what I did.. 500 bucks, 80s Grandby.. gutted to frame and built how I wanted.. no furnace, no water tank.. basically a shell with a lower bed option.. We spend 3 weeks in Baja in it.. great camper and super light (900 ish)...

5.0 or Ecoboost? I have the 5.0 in mine and consistently shocked at the MPG with camper on..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to me FWC makeover

Totally Agree!! I hate our disposable world sometimes and love seeing things being brought back to life instead of being dumped... My 80s Granby is sooooo nice now that i restored it.. Everyone that sees it is shocked it is 30+ years old.. but then again the only original part is the roof...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Floor -- OSB or Plywood?

Thanks David.. I am replacing the floor itself.. should have done it when I re-did the whole thing, but didn't really think to do it.. By removing the 3 layers and adding one back I will lose 1.5 inches, I will then add that to my platform and will gain a little bit of storage as well along...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Floor -- OSB or Plywood?

So.. my camper (old grandby) came with 3 layers of 3/4 osb.. I think someone added it to add height to it, but not really sure. Anyway, it add a lot of weight. I have decided I am going to remove it and add new floor. Do you suggest OSB or Plywood?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Prospective buyer: Hawk or Grandby?

I have a Grandby on a f150.. supercrew 6.5 bed.. We rebuilt from frame to make light (900 ish).. with two adults and two dogs we wanted the extra space coming from a Fleet which felt very cramped..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Seller advice -- repair roof hail damage or discount price?

honestly, probably almost every FWC in Colorado has a dimpled roof. They are pretty thin metal and we just get so much hail its almost inevitable. (I have had 2 and both were dimpled, It purely cosmetic... and like golf balls, it creates better aerodynamics, its a selling point.. ha)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical problem. Help quick! Headed to Baja tomorrow!

What he said.. hard to get to and therefore when we were there only one other truck camper and thats it.. Little beach restaurant is wonderful, decent snorkeling.. Its just quiet and the 25 miles of dirt to get there definitely keep many away, its pretty rough.. Vic.. have you been to Baja...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removal of Camper on a Slope?

I do it all the time with my Grandby, but.. I have 4 very solid cable jacks, the kind that are used when you only really need 2 and find the balance point.. I put the more stout ones in the front where more of the weight theoretically will be and the others in the back (also pretty stout but not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC - Project M

Hmm.. I don't get this idea much, especially for 9k.. Its a place to sleep.. but.. nothing else for 9k.. isn't a topper with a rooftop tent about 1/5 of the price?
