I also live in CO front range and it hails a lot.. but like it was said before, its usually pretty isolated. My camper is a 2014 and it is pretty dimpled from hail, but not issues. Heavy blankets can help protect from hail, but just better to find some cover if possible..

Hey! Good luck.. see in my signature a link to my Grandby Rebuild.. its all pretty basic..I didn't end up needing weld any aluminum but did use L brackets and replaced some broken welds that way..

I think it comes down to whether or not you are comfortable with a hard side vs pop up.. I like the pop up because it is way more enjoyable to drive especially in windy conditions. With two young kids though, the roof top might be a nice way to have more space. These campers get small real quick..

Ours is also pretty much ready to go, minus food and water... I would suggest not leaving any food in the camper and keeping it very clean, we had a mouse figure out how to get in once. Thankfully I found it quickly and it did no damage.

How do you edit?? Want to add a few details.. 9 yr 90k transferrable bumper to bumper extended warranty. Camper weighs approx 1200 lbs. Roof is the one piece roof, has some hail damage up there, but does not effect its functionability (bought it that way 5 years ago, zero issues).

Just get one of the harbor freight trailers and use that.. perfect application and you don't have to lower the camper all that much to get it on there..

I believe the Fleets were made in 3 lengths, 6.5, 7 and 7.5... Personally I have had 2 Fleets, the 7.5.. I also got a rough one that I renovated, it was super wierd, 7 feet long, but it was super skinny, like only 72 inches wide

I reached out and never heard back from that one also.. they can't go all the way forward because of the wheel wells.. will likely need a platform to clear sides of truck (makes for great storage area) Had an older 7.5 foot fleet on a 14 F150 6.5 bed for awhile.. worked great

Thats a keystone.. You will need an older truck or trailer to haul as modern trucks are too narrow between the tailgate without modification.

love this idea. I really would like a flatbed but some of these custom designs are just over the top expensive.. If you can make one for a 8 foot bed F150 HDPP I would be highly interested and be your best marketing tool here in Colorado...

Apparently they call it Shelf Mode and its "supposed" to happen after 24 hours of non use to save the battery..
