RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ford F150 3.5 Ecoboost experiences

Hey all About to order a new truck.. F150 HDPP 8 foot bed (same truck I have now, just newer). I have had the 5.0 in my last 3 trucks and have not been disappointed at all, but considering the 3.5 ecoboost.. Experiences? Obviously its powerful.. What is the fuel economy like with a FWC? We...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

IMO.. they aren't going to fix all the roofs that are not attached anymore, there would hundreds at the very least.. Mine, 2013 is unattached all over the roof, looks like a wave.. mostly, not a big issue unless in windy conditions.. but its kind of a bummer that they won't acknowledge its a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shock Absorbers For the Extra Weight of a Camper

Have tried the Rancho 9000s (failed miserably after 10k, like leaking fluid).. and now on the Bilstein 5100s for our HDPP F150.. Did 1 1/4 leveling kit on the front. I like the way they ride..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tire advice

As discussed in many threads, everyone seems to have different experiences base on their rig/driving habits? I had the Michelin LTX on my former F150 without a camper and while they were fine, I only got 37k out of them, and I drive like a grandpa.. Same with Cooper Discoverer AT3...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Interior Options for ‘80’s Fleet

I have found the rollover couch takes up a lot of room and therefore prefer a shell. We use a big bench seat up towards the front of the camper (big storage box under) and use a slide out insert to create a bottom bunk.. works great and more floor space for our 2 dogs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

No Clue and probably does not apply to me as I am not the first owner and the camper is 10 years old. I appreciate Stan coming to this forum and offering insight, but it really does seem like the 2 sided tape is not as strong as they hoped for as there seem to be quite a few of us with this...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

The dimples are hail.. The diagonal lines, no clue.. parts of my roof are probably 3/4 inch away from the roof studs (I can push it down and feel when it hits the studs)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

Here is what mine looks like, wish I could post of video as I can push it down and it bounces back.. clearly not connected to much of anything anymore.. 2013 Grandby What does a new roof cost out of curiosity ?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Attachment points pulling out of plywood on 80's Fleet

I have rebuilt a couple from frame back to a damn near new camper. You will want to replace any rotted/broken plywood. New eyebolts should have backing plates to spread out the load..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

I have a 2013 Grandby and also have the same issue and would love to hear a solution. I do have yakima tracks on the rear with a solar panel running east/west... wondering if adding more towards the front is maybe a solution to help eliminate the noise.. it definitely makes for some sleepless...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Airbags vs new leaf springs?

Will you have your camper on full time or part time? If the answer is part time, air bags can be deflated and you get your stock ride... new springs and no camper = harsh ride.. nothing complicated about it in my opinion..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Initial questions- New (old) Fleet on the way!

I had one of a similar year and 7.5 foot model.. completely gutted and used as fancy tent with a small countertop installed.. it was super light, around 700 lbs.. could wheel it around on a small trailer super easy... f150 didn't even notice it was there..

Going to be selling my very low mileage 2016 F150 XLT package. 72k miles on 5.0 motor. 4x4 This is the perfect platform for a Grandby in my opinion (ordered exact truck) Supercab -- currently back seats are out for more storage but I have them 8 foot bed 36 gallon gas tank!! big win there...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best All Terrain Tire for Snow

Its bizarre how different it can be for us all... I have tried the Michelin ATX LT also and only got 34k out of them, the Cooper Discoverer AT3 and got around 37k and now on the KO2 and sitting at 24k and they look almost brand new. Of the 3 I like the KO2 the best and the Michelin the least..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To buy or not to buy

Well.. its a project, but if you are up for it, it will be worth it.. (see my signature for a rebuild of a similar year Grandby). Personally, I have rebuilt 2 basically from the frame (the second one had good siding so I just painted it). My advice is decide what you want to do first. If its...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are load range E tires really needed for camper?

You don't "need" them, until you need them.. I was in the same boat with our first camper, had brand new tires and didn't want to get new ones. We had an old Fleet that was gutted and very basic, weighed less than 700 lbs. We made a Baja trip with those tires and it all worked out, however...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Does this 2008 FWC eagle seem like a decent deal?

Seems overpriced to me and looks a little rough.. its 15 years old and looks it... The market is certainly hard to predict, that was a 6-8k camper pre covid.. I do sense that things are starting to correct themselves and prices are normalizing a bit... Also, hold out for what you want or you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4 Wheel Camper Cybertruck plans

I just don't see anyway that the CT would have enough range with a camper to do something like Baja.. I have driven it 4 times and there is no way you are going to see a Tesla Charger in the middle of Baja in my lifetime (My opinion obviously). We have a KIA EV6 with a range "up to" 360 miles...
