RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC DIY modifications & item weights advice

Check out camper builds here. Storage was what I wanted in my Shell Build. Did not need hot water for the way we camp. Always used the 20 gal tank for drinking water, learn how to sanitize the tank and no problems. Good luck with your build, take lots of pictures, we love pictures. Bill

"Been wondering the same Bill. I think I will wait until the time is a little closer as smoke and heat will factor into my decision." Ted you are right on that. Change in the wind and some areas will be out. Let me know where you decide to go, may join you and check your Tiger. Just can't be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Perseid Meteor Shower

Looking for advice on where to camp and watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. Looks like the peak will be August 11th and 12th. Thinking about eastern Sierra's along 395. Now traveling in my Class B van so nothing rougher than a forest road to get to the camp spot. Moon sets at 10:05 PM in Bridgeport...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thinking of selling your FWC ? - Now might be the time to sell

+1 for the crowds dissipating. I sold my Tundra and Hawk in January for $34K may have gotten more now. But I am happy and got my Class B van about 20% off MSRP, that would not happen now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two night getaway to the North Coast Mattole Road

Dump was the beach in Fort Bragg years ago. You can still see the concrete pad trucks backed up to, to dump. There are still some rusted out engine blocks and rear ends in places. Most of the junk has rusted away or was claimed by the ocean. But glass was broken up and polished by the sand.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dispersed Camping Impacts on Rural Counties

Just read an article in Outside Online. Do I Have to Share My Campsite? Dispersed camping is getting less dispersed. Our ethics columnist weighs in on whether you need to share. I may not agree with everything in the article but it does give you something to think about. I guess we...

Not disagreeing on being a pessimist. But I feel that being a user and being a steward does not have to be mutually exclusive. I hope we can be both.

"We have met the enemy and he is us." Pogo I hope the education works. Most of us have enjoyed the backcountry and boondocking for years. I hope we all leave the areas we visit cleaner than we arrived. But just the number of people can be a problem. Last time I was at Alabama Hills there were...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ford ECO boost fuel MPG or other feedback

I have a 2021 Coachmen Class B RV on a 2020 Ford Transit 350HD with a 3.5 Ecoboost. I have been very impressed with power and milage. Took a trip to Texas and back, never lacked for power. Just set CC and goes up any hill without slowing, 10 sp trans is smooth. As far as mileage running the...
