It is doable. I had mine on a 1st gen tundra with the 4.0 six cyl. for 3 years before moving to a 3/4 ton. You'll need to modify the rear suspension and up grade tires and shocks.

Vic, I'm suggesting that anyone heading out during a cold spell or once colder temps are in place for the season, check and adjust pressure. When weather warms, yes you will need to adjust as needed.

If you replace with new aluminum skin, get marine grade(corrosion resistant), I believe it is 6061 grade. use zinc chromate primer with a compatible 2 part top coat. Predrill all holes if possible before painting.
