RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Entry door window issue

Mine did the same thing. I disassembled the window frame cleaned the old sealant reinstalled and all is good 5 years later. Try fixing the old one before spending on a new window unit. Use a good quality silicone.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West four wheel camper lift panel

It could work for cabinets but it is heavy. you could use Starboard lite for that purpose although it is porous and the porosity will show on the edges. Any long span of starboard if unsupported will sag though. As mentioned above you'll need to mechanically fasten it or it can be welded if you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West four wheel camper lift panel

I would not use Starboard for the lift panels. The 1/4" will most likely flex and cup from the load. I used Starboard for many years on boats and for other applications and while it is a very good product, it's not for this particular project.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West CO2/ propane detector going off

As Paul mentioned the 1 lb propane cylinders can leak(even when new) as was the case when my alarm was going off intermittantly. I bought some of these and have never had another issue...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof Seal premature cracking

Don't know what the other spots look like but in that picture it looks to me like the sealant did not bond properly to the surface and separated. Could be due to dirt, moisture or chemical contamination. Pull it back and see if there is any sealant stuck on the surface. I'm with Ckent on the use...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Norcold Fridge Removal Question

The wires labeled 12v + - are most likely the main feed from the house battery and could possibly be used as the 12v supply for the new fridge if the wire is the correct gauge. I think the wires labeled 12v heater are are coming from the fridge control panel selector switch(battery, propane...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof screws question

Overkill to cover the screw heads but if you want go ahead, can't hurt anything. Putting some sealant in the screw hole or on the threads works well as a thread locker. Be sure to clean the roof when you pull the old screws to insure no dirt or oils are present

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Weighed my 2016 F-150 SuperCab XLT 6.5ft bed FX4 with Hawk

As far as payload, dont worry about your "heavier than stock tires" as they are unsprung weight, although they do add to the curb weight

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My 2009 Hawk needs some love: best battery?

The simplist and least exspensive route is to stay with lead acid, either flooded or AGM. As Vic mentioned switching to lithium is more complicated. If you stay with lead acid be sure you get a true deep cycle battery and not a "dual purpose" like an Optima. I replaced my AGM about 2 years ago...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 10 ply. Tire Recommendations

If your not doing heavy off roading. Michelin LTXs performed well on my 2WD Tundra, can't tell you anything about performance in snow and I do not recommend them in mud as the clog instantly. I'm running Cooper ATPs on my F250 4X4 now and I'm very pleased with them as an all around tire.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 3 way cooling problems

When ambiant temps rise fridge cooling suffers with all aborbtion fridges(some worst than others). A couple things that can help is to be sure your rig is level, not just close but truly level. I removed the single factory cooling fan and installed a twin fan which improved cooling by a few...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC PVC material needs reshaping

Be careful if you decide heat is the way to go, over application of heat can delaminate the pvc coating from the fabric and accelerate the aging process causing the coating to become brittle.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Stock Tire Size E Rating

I carried my Hawk on a first gen Tundra for 3 years. I added super srprings, HD shocks and E rated tires. You'll be ok with those upgrades if you respect the braking capabilities of your truck and don't push it on the steep grades. While the supersprings worked ok for me, complete new spring...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Stock Tire Size E Rating

The only tire that will affect the amount of payload you're carrying is the spare. Tires on the ground are unsprung weight and 75 pounds isn't alot of rotational mass so you'll likely not notice how it will affect MPGs. I would stay with the additional inches of ground clearance as ri-f mentioned

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West little solar panel roof mishap

5200 is a great product but will sag while curing over a dime size hole. You'll need to back it up with something till it cures, masking tape can work. Best repair would be to patch with a piece of thin aluminum, scuff and clean with solvent all mating surfaces, use 5200 as both the adhesive and...
