Came across this rear door awning. Nice design. Might be a little difficult to do on a FWC, just above the rear door. There's a very minimal amount of room there for overhead clearance, but it might work. Haven't tried it. It's well thought out...

Yep, don't know what to tell you, but didn't matter how much I tightened mine, it wouldn't lock it down. But no big deal for me. I just added the locknut. The mule brackets work fine and give you that flexibility for the install location. Did you have your rear awning staked down or on a frame...

So what is the 5 amp fuse on the shell's fuse panel (left side, bottom fuse on the 6 fuse panel)? In their manual it claims to be a 5 amp fuse for exterior LEDs?!

zirkel - I've got an inexpensive 8 ft. ARB awning (with LED lights built in to the under side of the awning) mounted to Mule awning brackets. This is on a Hawk shell. I like the 8 ft. because it gives you a proper amount of room under the awning as the sun shifts position and also to put a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Grandby running lights - current draw?

Paul, I'm just talking about the exterior LED lights at the top of the camper - 2 on each side at top (forward/aft) which I think of as upper side markers, and 3 at the top front and top rear ( 2 at the front corners and 1 long LED in the front and rear middle), which I think of as clearance...

OK, Kim, the floor to bench top is: 21 1/4", port side bench length: 52 1/4", starboard side bench length: 771/2". Note that there is a cutout at the aft end of the starboard side bench: 16 1/2" long (from rear door towards front of camper) and 11" deep - so that the bench is not 16 1/4" wide...

David, the arctic pack folds down into about an 11-inch wide stack about 1-inch in thickness when you drop the roof. It doesn't significantly change the clearance anywhere except around that 11-inch band along perimeter. That may or may not be significant, it depends on your DIY interior build...

FWC runs 10 AWG from under the hood to the fuse box in the camper, and it's already fused. Are you planning to wire it differently?

Kim, good luck with the new shell. For just 1-2 days, I agree, you should be just fine with what you you are suggesting, as long as you leave with a fully charged battery. You can always upgrade later if you need more power and storage.. Rich

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Ah/battery question

Kim, I think if you are extremely frugal in your total energy usage, you could run your fridge fulltime and squeak by on a 75 ah AGM. But you're not giving yourself much leeway, and that's assuming that you are camping in a perfect, sunny world. You could swap out your 75 ah AGM for a 100 ah...

That's good to know. The one I referred to is a 3/4 inch tube. It has a good flow and will fit pretty much everything. If you do happen to have a hose that won't, for instance, fit into the neck of your vechcle's tank fill, you can always use a funnel or insert a smaller length of tube into the...

Well, personally, I'd go with what your manufacturer suggests. If they say 13.9 then try it. BB suggests ~14.2 based on a 14.4 absorption. You'll know in a day when the solar charges it up.

Steve, a Battleborn will typically have a charged voltage setting of 14.2 (13.2 seems low) about 0.2 loxer than absorbption voltage of 14.4).. Can you charge your batteries to 100% with a portable charger plugged in (like a Noco Genius 10 for example)? Your batteries should see a 14.2-14.4...

That's happened to me in the past, too, on a couple occassions. I also noticed that regardless of the SOC reading 100% I was always a few amp/hrs in the negative on the BMV712 (with everything shut down - zero load). Recalibrating/syncing, at night, corrected this. If you find that all of your...

Your back will also enjoy not lifting a heavy can regardless of whether you use plastic or metal, with a ball siphon hose. Used this for years transferring fuel and water. Leave the can on the ground (raised just a little higher than the tank you're pumping into so gravity will work) and...
