Anyone have a good idea how to store your cast iron in a camper so that it doesn't rust. I know about keeping a layer of oil on it, but is there something to wrap it in? Or keeping something desiccant nearby?
What is in the hole to the left of the switch? An awesome idea on the love lights. I too wish I had something that operated from the doorway, but don't have the skills to do this. Very nice!
I lurked for 8 years before pulling the trigger. But that gave me lots of time to figure out exactly what I wanted, and I am 100% satisfied. I hope you will be also. Waiting is the hardest part.
Wandering Sagebrush wandered past and introduced themselves tonight as I was cooking dinner. Nice to belong to such a welcoming mini community. The flowers are amazing but you better come quick. They are moving up in elevation and fading at lower ones.
All right, you guys have convinced me. I am loading up to leave Saturday, stay the night in Alabama hills, then head into the park on Sunday hoping the weekend crowds will be gone. I have all week free, Yee-haw!
I got a Bobcat shell 8 months ago and love it. They are great guys who build a great product. Check out my blog in the signature line for things I have done to make it a great lean traveling machine. The hardest part is being patient waiting for them to build it. Good luck.
I have airbags on my Tacoma and Bobcat combination. I didn't think I really needed them, but when they went out I sure noticed the difference. We were bouncing along and the kids in the back seat were having trouble talking, but enjoying the sound effects. Turns out someone gave me bad advice...
Frankly, out in the middle of the plain, in my ATC is the perfect place to experience the big one. Not like there is anything going to fall on you there.
To be clear, they run the concessions at these places, not the places themselves. So go, enjoy the place, but pack a picnic lunch and stay in your camp rig instead of their pricy hotels.
Since Ahwahnee is a Native american word meaning deep grassy valley, I am waiting for the native americans to step up to the plate and fight about it. I actually admire the park service for pre-emptively changing the names instead of waiting for the court battle. Kind of takes the wind out of...

This is a $17 digital document that has great information about cheap/free camping along the coast and Sierra Nevada. There is also one for 395 and desert region. It has been worth every penny for me.

I use velcro to connect to the carpet installed on my bench.

Wow, so sorry. I like the idea of borrowing jacks since most of us don't travel with them on. But I live in Sonora, too far away to offer. But if that works you are welcome to them.
I have a few stickers left and can make more. But I hate the "weeding" part, where you remove the unnecessary vinyl, so from here on out I reserve the right to send out unweeded with directions.
Here is a picture of what they did on my bumper, moving the Toyota Tacoma camera from the handle on the tailgate to the bumper. They didn't really do anything to change the angle so now it faces outward more than downward, but it still shows plenty...
