RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Awning Alternartive

This is the one I plan to purchase eventually. So far I haven't needed an awning. Moving each day and easy set up were the key factors in my decision to get an ATC. http://www.busdepot.com/details/awning/

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

A woman was married to an angry, violent man and for years they argued so the neighbors could hear. He was frequently heard to say "When I die, I am going to haunt you from the grave. I will dig my way out and kill you". After he died, her neighbors asked her if she was worried. "Not a bit", she...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Butane curling iron for hair (wife's)

never seen the propane ones, but have used the butane ones for years. They don't get quite as hot, but do an adequate job. Pretty small and compact, and the cartridges last for a long time.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Curtains

I just used Command hooks, and made elastic loops at the end of the curtain. They stretch enough to go over the hook, but if I ever want to change my mind, the Command hook should come off cleanly. I did have to switch to the larger command hooks for the side window. Smaller ones worked on the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West You know you're a geezer when.......................

Actually one of the reasons I love my ATC is that is sticks up just enough that I can easily find my car in the parking lot. Seems like everyone in town has a silver Tacoma. But I sure could relate to your story.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West binocular recommendations

My Papillo II binoculars arrived yesterday, and I am quite pleased with them for the price. $109.00, Amazon free shipping. They are nice and clear, but the greatest thing is how they focus on things close up. Not quite what I thought of when I started down the trail for binoculars, but I can see...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West binocular recommendations

Thank you highz. I had looked at these because John Muir Laws, the illustrator of the Laws Field Guide to the Sierra Nevada, and an amazing educator/artist recommended them too. They are not high end, but with my budget they are probably sufficient for entry level. But it was great to get a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West binocular recommendations

I am thinking about getting some decent binoculars. I want small enough to carry easily for bird watching etc. I ordered the KOWA 10x25's back in July, but the $243 price seemed too good to be true and was because the on-line dealer took my money, but didn't deliver the goods. I am in a dispute...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Geology in action: Twain Harte Lake, CA

Happy to report that the lake is now refilled. Not sure what they did to repair the crack, but everyone seems reassured it is safe enough for those downstream. Filling the lake during a drought was a bit contentious as downstream people objected to the "loss" of water while it filled, but...

Milt - you are such an inspiration to me, both in your travels and your artistic talent. I just retired and have begun practicing sketching and watercolor. It never seems to turn out the way I want, but I can see that practice is quickly improving my skills. I love your work, and am learning...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New goal setting tool

This is an amazing site full of "dangerous" roads. I have been on many, most aren't anything to get too excited about for most of us. But it is a pretty comprehensive list that would make a good "bucket list". I would say I want to do all of them, until I got to page 14 which had the Katy...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTW app?

I found the X and it went away, but it does come back every now and again. But I just click the x again. I tried the app too, but didn't like it. The web version feels more like "home" to me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yep, it's summer

Ski3pins- glad to see your post. I have been worried about you, not knowing exactly where you lived. In Twain Harte we are under a golden glow all day and the ashfall is like a very, very light snowfall. This Butte fire is a monster. Stay safe.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Truck Tonneau Cover Help

I love my Backflip, 4 sectioned, solid aluminum cover. It has two rails along the top of the bed that were able to be left in place when the ATC Bobcat went on. We haven't pulled the Bobcat off yet, so I don't know what a pain it will be to go back and forth. You also have to think about whether...

Sagebrush - not sure I understand what your device does. I use a water thief for any spigot that doesn't have threads. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/121502460542?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82 Less than $5.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A few maintanence items (rear curtain, door rubber options and upgraded roof clamps)

I hang a large, lightweight Bali scarf from the three sided aluminum that sticks out of the rear lifter panel on an ATC. I hang it up using two medium binder clips. It hangs down long enough to cover the opening even with the door open and the screen door closed, and allows air to still filter...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ARB Awnings on a Pop Up...anyone had experience with them?

When I had ATC build mine I had them relocate the latches and install awning track on both sides. I haven't worked on an awning yet but I carry 4 poles and a tarp from an old dining canopy (pre EZ-up days). Leave your self options, save money now. And ATC didn't even charge me. Not sayin' they...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portland bridges?

Actually I do better if I am driving because I feel "in control". I think the reason I don't like that particular bridge is because it is "banked". Getting on the 110 from the 405 S does the same thing to me. I feel like I am going to slide off unless I keep up speed. And speaking of speed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portland bridges?

I get the willies on the I5 North bridge in Portland because it is so dang high. I tell my brain "you never go off the road, why would you here?" but it just doesn't work. Does anyone know of an alternate route into Washington, using lower bridges? I think I detoured to swing by VooDoo doughnuts...
