RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Middle Fork Stanislaus River - Brightman Recreation Area

Friday night in Pinecrest shouldn't be too rowdy. Saturday night in the summers can be almost dangerous with the flatlanders whoopin' it up. Enjoy your trip. Post pictures, we LOVE pictures.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Middle Fork Stanislaus River - Brightman Recreation Area

I am not Darryl, but I am pretty sure he means the super steep part that goes east from Kennedy Meadows as the "Sonora Grade". It really is spectacular, and there are forest service roads that allow dispersed camping with a permit. Stop at the Ranger's Station before you go, but you have to get...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Middle Fork Stanislaus River - Brightman Recreation Area

Check the weather before you go, it can be COLD up there. They have closed highway 108, 24 miles from Strawberry, which I am pretty sure means Kennedy Meadows. That means all your plans are still good to go, and you should have less traffic since people got scared off.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Middle Fork Stanislaus River - Brightman Recreation Area

Brightman may be right along the river, but you are quite a bit above it. With any of these, mid week should be fine anywhere. Weekends fill up fast.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Northern California FWC 2013 Customer Rally (Kenwood, CA)

I waited to let owners have first chance, but could a potential buyer come and hang out? I would have to tent camp. Like my signature says, I have the truck and need to recoup a bit from that financial hit, but the plan is to buy one in a year or so, and I am seriously investigating.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermal Cooker

I have this for $60 and it is so-so. You have to bring everything up to temperature on a stove, and then it uses residual heat to finish cooking. Only certian foods take to that treatment well. I hear you can get them cheaper in the Asian markets...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RSS feed for new forums content?

Well, I found the next best thing to an RSS. Way at the bottom of the home page under Misc is a box and at the top of the box is "Today's Active Content". If I can keep up daily, this is a sweet way to catch up, partially because when you click on the post is takes you strait to the end instead...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RSS feed for new forums content?

Another option would be increasing the "Recently added topics" on the home page to 20 or so. That way, given usual traffic, one could go a day or two without checking and still get a good feel for what has been going on.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RSS feed for new forums content?

I would also like an RSS feed option. It has been a year since this tantalizing promise was issued. Great site, just hoping for more. Thanks.

Toyota Tacoma 2005+ mounting brackets for mounting a FWC on the Tacoma composite bed. If your thinking about buying a FWC these would be nice to have preinstalled on your Tacoma. FREE, for local pickup only. Will not send as they are too heavy. They are in perfect condition and worked well...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West spare tire grill

Now this is a cool idea to store a grill on the back mounted spare tire. At $120 is isn't cheap, but very space efficient. http://www.expeditionportal.com/expedition-gear/accessories/1527-stuff-and-things-front-runner-spare-tire-campfire-cooking-grate.html

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eastern Sierra ~ Mammoth Area trip next week.

I was up in Bishop for the Millpond Music Festival this weekend and crossed over both Tioga and Sonora Pass to do it. The Aspens at the Bishop end are barely changing, but up near Bridgeport they are about halfway changed already. I think next weekend should be just about perfect.

There is also a peel and stick caulking product that is sort of like using a hot glue gun without the heat. It's the same stuff they use when they send you trinkets in the mail and there is a clear jelly holding it on. Dap 18324 Seal 'N Peel Removable Caulk, 10.1-Ounce 4.50 through Amazon.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Short Day Trips from Denver

Sorry to hijack, but I have a question. I visited some awesome dinosaur tracks just outside of Denver to the West, and I can't remember what they were called. I would love to go again. It had maybe a 50 yard expanse of exposed tracks on an almost vertical cliff face. Chain link fencing to...

Firefox 3.5.9 on a MacBook The first time it says No new content. The second time it loads up 30-40 or however many since the last time I clicked "Mark all as read". It is only a minor inconvenience, one I have become accustomed to to, but wrong just the same. Thanks for your dedication to...
