RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best Mod You Made to Your Camper

Getting rid of the lifter bar during sleep. I had to mangle out the rivets, but it still goes back into the holes so that I can raise and lower the roof. I love how much more open it makes the sleeping area. No more head bonking.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Forgot to latch

Not since my first trip! I almost went over Sonora Pass with the top half up after I stopped for a picnic break. Fortunately I have to go to the bathroom and pulled over after just a few miles and spotted it. I have a routine now and triple check everything.

I used Coroplast left overs and tape it to the back. It slides into the same track the covers use on the ATC.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Kitchen table

I have shared this before, but I love my ironing board as a table. It is much lighter than any table, variable height, and dirt cheap at thrift stores. It fits in the aisle and can also be used outside if no picnic table available. In my rig without the kitchen, it fits on the side opposite the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

Speaking of reminder systems. I use a spiral key ring to remind me to turn off my propane tank before I drive off. I know there are differing opinions on driving with propane on or off, I prefer to be legal and safe. It isn't that big a hassle. I turn the knob, remove the spiral, place it on the...

Brought tears to my eyes. Thank him so much for his bravery and dedication to his country. I owe my freedom to him and so many others who didn't make it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Snow: how much is too much?

For me it isn't worrying about the roof when it is up, but going down. That might put a lot of stress on the folding panels and the rivets connecting them to the base as things move under pressure.

Better safe than sorry. If you can sleep top down, I would. But I am a scardy cat.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet Shell storage solutions

I wrote a blog post about my couch storage kitchen because I prefer to cook outside. https://sierrashadow.wordpress.com/2017/01/16/kitchen-cabinet/ I like it because I can reach everything from the ground outside.

I’m notVic but here is what I did with Coroplast and screening. https://sierrashadow.wordpress.com/2016/04/10/carizzo-plain/ Towards the end of the post.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shell Owners- 12V fridge or nice ice cooler

It was the ice draining that finally convinced me to go reefer, and although it isn't perfect, I would never go back. If you have enough solar/battery it really is a game changer. But my husband always says "You can buy an awful lot of ice for what that costs." So I do understand it isn't for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Frozen weather, frozen stuff. Is it still functional?

Be careful about opening the top when it is below freezing. The flexible material isn't all that flexible when it's frozen. You can run your heater for a while to loosen things up.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How many nights in 2017?

I enjoyed hearing the responses last year. It inspired me to try to log a few more. But life got in the way, buying a new house and moving and all. But I did manage 28 nights. I bet most of you will top me, but that just keeps me motivated. Now I am trying to figure out which way my favorite...
