RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper jacks

The guy who is going to load it says he used a skid steer with straps. I wasn't sure about that but he said they've done it before and never had any problems with it. I don't see a single mar or scrape on it from the pictures he's sent me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper jacks

Thanks for the advice! I did call Bryan and he suggested Reicos, he also suggested using 4 jacks instead of 2 or 3 which is by far the safest way. I'm having a car hauler deliver an Alaskan to me and I'm not sure how to get it off his trailer. Since it will be on a car hauler trailer which is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper jacks

I know this has been discussed before in the past but was hoping we could discuss this one more time at least. I'm needing new camper jacks and I don't like the old system with using a jack for each side. Is there a way to properly lift the camper up by using skid steer forks? How/where would...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Power for your camper

I posted this in another section but thought I would get your input as well. How do you all provide power for your camper when you are boon docking or living off grid? I'm wanting to set up a 2nd battery under my truck hood that would be connected to the alternator and the isolater. I'm still...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding a dual battery system for camper

Has anyone hooked up a 2nd battery under your hood that is tied in with the starting battery for power for the camper? I've been thinking of doing this and have it "somewhat" figured out but not sure what kind or size of isolater I would need. Any suggestions?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thickness of your cushions

Thanks PackRat. I found that Foam Factory has some really good prices! And as kimosawboy pointed out, foam today is far better than in the 1960s so I'm not going to go with 6" thickness but probably 3-4". These cushions will be mostly for sleeping on.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thickness of your cushions

I'm needing to reupholster my cushions even though they are in perfect shape, but they've been around since 1967. The thickness of my cushions are 6 inches and they are 4 feet long (I don't remember the width) but I'm going to reupholster them myself to save on cost. The huge cost is the foam...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flat bed truck?

I'm looking for a truck to haul my 8ft. Alaskan and I'm seeing a lot of flat bed truck for sale that is either a 3/4 ton or 1 ton, which is what I'm looking for. Are there any disadvantages to a flat bed? Anything to be concerned about? Are they more sturdy that a regular truck bed? Thanks for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Where to find another jack stand?

When I bought my 67 NCO last summer it came with 2 jack stands. These are "do-able" but can be sometimes shaky as you all know. I want to get another one to set up on the back side but haven't been able to find any. I'm guessing these are hard to come by? Probably have to wait and watch I...
