Met a nice guy with a 2008 Hawk at Page Springs campground near Steens Mt. He was unaware of this site so I informed him so he may join as he wax interested.

Just saw a silver crew cab Earth Roamer while passing through Winthrop, WA. They were parked by the river and the new foot bridge.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think there is more of a problem with the towing tent trailers than anything. And, the trailers that were broken into by bears had no people around. The report stated they were regular trailers, not the tent type. I think if people are present, making lots of noise...

I tend to panic so hubby will be the "bearer" of bear spray. Someone prone to panic attacks like I am would be poor candidate to wait until bear is charging 10 feet away. Keeping a clean campsite is easy as we always cook inside or eat yogurt or sandwiches from fridge. Some of you really cook...

Hubby says his gun is a 45 and semi-automatic. Shows what I know about firearms. Anyway, I plan on stopping at REI tomorrow and buying the Bear Assault canister. At $60 bucks, it is kinda expensive initially but it may be a lifesaver. I don't know the official answer either about our pop ups...

I am not a gun person either but hubby feels he needs it when we travel. I am of the opinion you are safer in the backcountry than in the city. Okay, around here in the Mt Baker National Forest you might run into meth labs or pot growers but we never have. We have an REI just down the road so...

Hello all, Itinerary sorta mapped out, no reservations as usual, open to serendipity and the most interesting stops we make are usually not planned. I am excited about this trip because my hubby has never been to the area and it is one you really should see before your time is up. I am excited...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West post a *PIC* of your latest purchase (can be anything as long as it is for your camper)

Bill, We have a 2.5" memory foam topper and sleep much better. A few years ago I could sleep on the ground but older bones like more comfort. Happy snoozing. Our dog likes it, too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My trip to the Sheldon NWR

Water? I did notice a few windmills that must have been powering water wells? We dry camped on a dirt road that led to a wilderness area by the Cedarville cemetery that had a rushing creek paralleling it. We were looking for agates.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My trip to the Sheldon NWR

We were in the area last April/May. I have a TR on my blog. We ventured down a few dirt roads off 34 and found several springs. The petrified wood was all over, if you look closely at the hillsides. We found a fe wApache tears then found out they were from a state road maintenance site. One of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Into the Winds

Oh, boy, what a trip! It really whets our appetites for when we leave in 10 days for western Wyoming. We aren't the hikers you two are (hubby has COPD) but the Green River Lakes area is on our itinerary. What, no bear encounters? We are hoping for distant sightings but no closeups. Your...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Proposed Dams on Wyoming's Upper Green River

Well, crap. We plan to visit that area in September and the reason is because of the natural beauty. Green River Lakes and that square top mountain (can't remember the name but close) look to be some remarkable scenery. I realize that whatever dams won't e built before we get there, if ever, but...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Updated my maps

Either missed it or the sign is gone. Could be the latter according to BLM in Ely. We were there in late May of this year. We don't just pass through Nevada on the way to somewhere else, we actually explore it. Last time through (in 2 separate 3+ week trips), we were at the Black Rock Desert...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Internet Etiquette - posting of secret and hard to find camp spots

When we all meet up this October we will share our special find in Nevada. Some of you may already know about it. Great for photography and just seeing a beautiful landscape. We have found several sources for some cool large agates but have kept them secret just because one is on private...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Updated my maps

Last May, we actually drove down the dirt road that passed by the Geographical Center of Nevada. Ranch country with none to fond feelings for the B L M judging by the signs we saw. We were on our way to look for the Miniature Grand Canyon (found it-nothing special) and go into Belmont the Back...

So glad that you are carefully monitoring yourself to keep on top of this. And, being assertive with your doctors. My nephew noticed a lump under his armpit last November:stage 3 melanoma. Currently he has almost exhausted all avenues of treatment. A former Marine, he was loathe to use...

Thank-you for an informative TR. We plan to visit Lassen on our fall trip in early October and the meetup October 10-12. Right on the way from where we live. Great info on camping and sights to see. We do not enjoy camping where there are big RVs and their noisy generators so it is good to know...

We are currently camped at Huuricane Creek outside of Enterprise, Oregon with 1 bar for wifi. That second weekend in October would work for us. We leave right after Labor Day to photograph fall color in Western Wyoming to return early October. After a week home to out garden to bed and...

When we were at Devils Lake state park on the Oregon Coast one of the employees told their rates were going up in May or June. Still, Oregon State Parks are superb. Mostly free showers and in some incredible locations.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Memorial Weekend

We had planned to leave last Sunday morning but delays in the delivery of our Ranch Hand front bumper (which is stuck in Kent, WA???) will have us leaving this weekend which is bad for traffic. Wildflowers are a nice touch. Could you have used any as foreground elements? I do like the one of Delicate Arch and the clouds.
