RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Updated Road Conditions In GSENM?

I haven't been paying attention to the weather down there yet as my journey is still too far away but the rehab on the roads will be sunshine, wind and time for them to dry out.

I have the Benchmark and DeLorme maps already and have just ordered the Trails Illustrated maps for Grand Gulch-Cedar Mesa (706) and Manti-La Sal National Forest (703). I like maps and guidebooks and may end up with more before I leave. I've also downloaded the area onto my tablet in...

Also, a checkbook is handy for paying campground fees since they always seem to be amounts that i don't have the correct change for.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Longer Trip advice appreciated!

200 miles/day means your going to come across some sort of grocery every day or two, even with the new gas can you'll still need to refuel periodically so there will be trips to civilization and you have a fridge. In the immortal words of Douglas Adams

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Post VotG Campering Weekend Plans

Where are peoples travels taking them after the Utah campering weekend in October? My original thought was to perhaps go to Hall's and take the ferry across to Bullfrog and from there go up to Boulder via the Burr Trail then along 12 to Capitol Reef and up through Cathedral Valley And out the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Outdoor camping table? Suggestions/Recommendations?

I have two, one by Crazy Creek and one by Camptime. The Crazy Creek is an aluminum table and resistant to heat but takes some maintenance every now and then to realign the slats. The Roll-a-Table from Camptime is vinyl covered wood but the top isn't resistant to heat so need to be a bit...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West South of Needles Utah

First question, what exactly does 'city type pickup truck' mean? Many years ago, when the earth was young but after the dinosaurs I worked in the Needles District and went into both Lavender and Davis Canyons as well as Beef Basin. Beef Basin from 211 I remember as being a fairly decent road...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Grandy on 6'5" Bed?

I have a Grandby on a Tundra with a 6.5' bed. Tailgate is off, I have four pressure treated 2x4's running lenghtwise to provide a bit of extra support as well as lift to clear the deeper bed sides of the Tundra. For towing I bought an 18" extension that gets used for bike racks and some...

Have a small inverter that I almost never use. I did just buy an AC adapter for my camera and might try shoooting some shots with the intervalometer so maybe there will be some future use.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Oct 21 - 24 Group Utah Campering Gathering

Pretty sure that it'll all work out but yes, you have a permit spot. More info can be found here. Here is a link to a Google map showing the TH, canyon rim and ruin locations (approximate).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Oct 21 - 24 Group Utah Campering Gathering

I have no problem dropping the top and taking a group up to the TH. Breaking camp doesn't take long and I can fit 3 others pretty comfortably in the Tundra. 4 others gets a bit cozy but can be done though everyone might want a window for the views on the Moki Dugway.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Oct 21 - 24 Group Utah Campering Gathering

I have a permit for the 23rd to hike into Moonhouse Ruin with a couple spots open. I think there are still some permits available for that day if others are interested. Only 20/day are allowed in.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions needed for Utah exploring from St. George in early October

Going Canyonlands/Arches puts you a long way from St. George and if you cross the river at Page or Marble Canyon after the North Rim then you are going to go to either Hite or Moab to cross back. Zion/Bryce/GSENM will all keep you withing relatively easier driving distance to St. George...
