RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Granby Edition in a Tundra with 6.6 truck bed

Here are a couple pics... My Grandby is a 2002 with a couch batteries are at the front, 2x100W solar on top. Tows just fine, both my small trailer and my roommate's travel trailer which I initially picked up in Twin Falls, ID and delivered to Las Vegas. And stairs work well for getting...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hwy 89 (AZ) Closed near Cameron Detour in place (Reopened 10/6/18)

Apparently the rains from Rosa opened up a sinkhole near Cameron (about where the Little Colorado bridge is) that caused a fatal accident last night (10/3/2018) and opened up a sinkhole that has closed a stretch of the highway in both directions. Traffic is currently being routed through...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Granby Edition in a Tundra with 6.6 truck bed

I'll send you some photos later as I'm at work now so it'll probably be this evening unless I get a lull in the day and can go digging. The 2x4's do two things, one they support the camper the entire length and two they raise it a bit so that it doesn't ride on the rails of the bed. My camper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West TIRE WEAR LEAVING CAMPER ON FULL TIME

I got just short of 50,000 on a set of Cooper AT/3's rotating them every 5,000 or so miles with the oil changes. I could have gone further but had a trip coming up that I wanted new tires for. I'm following the same schedule for the current ST MAXX tires and expect the same/similar results.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Granby Edition in a Tundra with 6.6 truck bed

I'm running a Grandby on a Tundra and quite happy with it overall. I use some pressure treated 2x4's to support the overhang. Run E rated tires and air bags on mine. While I might not want to take it over Elephant Hill or do some other more adventurous 4-wheeling it has handled the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West March - April camping/hiking trip

Mojave Rd might be a possibility. Camino del diablo would be another possibility. I'm sure others will suggest Death Valley and Big Bend as well.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tires for winter

I ran siped Cooper AT/3's for several years and they worked well for snow in the mountains of the PNW. Switched to Cooper ST MAXX for the last winter before I moved south and they did pretty well but are a better offroad tire.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I am starting to really dislike my camper solar

Were you on flooded batteries before or AGM? Not familiar with your controller but my Renogy has different modes for various battery types, might want to check and make sure you are set for the correct battery type.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC advice needed

Not sure that living in an FWC full-time while working makes sense. Also, using truck with camper as a daily driver if there is any kind of commute/traffic isn't the most enjoyable nor is it fuel efficient (I did it for a few years). I would look at the truck camper combo as being my...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Border crossing paperwork

Like everyone else, no issues regarding ownership. More of a concern has been what foodstuffs might be in the fridge. Primary crossings have been at Osoyoos (sp?), Patterson and Nelway.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West under couch storage

Side couch is propane grill, roll-a-table, hammock, dog food and other sundries that stay in the camper. Front is some dry goods and things that we don't need to get at quite as often. When I first purchased the camper and was figuring out how to best pack it and use it I ordered a set of these.

FWC with an awning mounted on a black truck heading south on the 101 at about the 202 interchange where mesa-Tempe-Scottsdale all run together. I was over in the slow lane stuck in traffic when it went motoring past in the HOV lane and was gone before I knew it.
