RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Dual battery charge

Without knowing all the specifics it's hard to say for sure. What is the total Ah for your system? Before I put solar on my roof I was running 2 Group 31 deep cycle batteries for a total of 210Ah and figured 2-3 nights without recharging with usage similar to yours. That was during the summer...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x6=12 and 2x12=12 but which way to go?

Good point on the weight but I'm currently running 2 12V FLA batteries that are probably 60-65 pound each.. Having two batteries gives redundancy in case one has issues I can just take it offline and operate with diminished capacity.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RFI - Bypassing SLC

Was guessing there was a boat involved someplace in the trip. With surge brakes I'd keep it on the freeway, fill up in Tremonton and again in at Costco in Spanish Fork and just pick a lane and realize that it is what it is. I've pulled a few trailers through there and that seems to be the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RFI - Bypassing SLC

Best I've found is to roll through around mid morning on a Sunday. I have made early morning drives through that weren't too heinous.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x6=12 and 2x12=12 but which way to go?

Think I'm going to go with a couple group 31 115 Ah 12V AGM batteries from Fullriver unless I find something else that makes a compelling argument otherwise.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x6=12 and 2x12=12 but which way to go?

Good points all. I guess it's just trying to figure out if there's a better option but other than going 12V AGM I think sticking with what I have probably makes the most sense. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x6=12 and 2x12=12 but which way to go?

How long will I keep the rig? Who knows... I'd like to say a long, long time. Certainly don't have any plans for getting rid of it anytime in the foreseeable future. Not sure that cycling is as huge a deal with the solar on the roof, I'm still well over 12.2V in the mornings when I check...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x6=12 and 2x12=12 but which way to go?

So, for the past 4 years I've been running two flooded 12 volt batteries in parallel being charged by 2x100W solar panels on the roof running through a 30Amp PWM controller and all has been right with the world until recently when one of the batteries went bad so I figure I'm going to replace...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Glacier/Banff trip planning info request

Bowman Lake CG might fill quickly but the road that runs up the west side of the park runs through forest service land and there are a number of places to get out and find some dispersed camping. Banff is going to be crowded regardless. Look to the Provincial Parks as possibilities or going...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lolo Motorway and vicinity

There's lots of good camping along the NF of the Clearwater and plenty to explore; Washington Creek, Governor Creek, Skull Creek, Black Canyon. There's also some ways to tie in and drop down into the St Joe drainage. You might think about the Magruder Corridor as well when you're up that way...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Any drift boaters?

Not a drift boater (yet) but have years in rafts/kayaks/canoes/catarafts. There's a run on the John Day that should be pretty manageable for you if you'd like a wilderness experience, the Grande Ronde as well.. The Salmon River below Riggins has some water that is frequently run by drift boats...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Longest Day

When living in more northerly climes the longer days meant more. Now that I've relocated to the south the solstice isn't as big a deal, overall day length doesn't vary near as much from winter to summer.
