RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Looking for jacks, is Reico the only option?

The jack brackets have always been, and are now, an extra cost option. On my previous camper I rented portable tripod jacks from a tool rental shop. They are spooky to use but I never had any disasters. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-jacks/truck-camper-jacks.htm

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Intros and looking for feedback

Never once heard of anyone having a problem with the fabric "blowing out". If it did, I would guess the truck might also be on its side. :( ATC is another good brand, similar to FWC. Welcome also.

We weighed his camper once and he was running a 1,000 lbs over gvw. He calls it his little piece of 'sh...' Holy hell :o A thousand pounds over?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Palomino Bronco Reviews

Go here for a few reviews: rv.net A quick search tells me they are pretty heavy, 1100 lbs DRY, must be wood framed. Also called "entry level" what ever that means. I would research what your pay load capacity is on your truck. Good luck.

Now I'm sure your wife will hate it, but this is what I use to get my 110 pound buddy in and out of the camper and the crew cab: http://www.petstep.com I have been looking at the Amp steps for a year now, but I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money.....yet. They seem like the ideal...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West location of 14 foot on flatbed

Hey RoadHermit, according to Alaskan there no problems fitting their campers to the GM twins, whatever the bed length: "The Alaskan 8ft fits inside the tailgate on the new GM's 8ft bed. We also make a 8.5 that goes an inch shy of the end of the bumper and is only $200.00 more than the 8ft. We...

Also, you posted this on another thread: "Right now I don't have a truck and from what I've been told an Alaskan camper won't fit in the GM bed because they narrowed the tailgate opening on their last restyle." Not according to a response from Alaskan Camper: "The best fit for your new GM CCSB...

Samo, yeah the more I sat there listening to the HF special howl away the more I got that OMG what have I done feeling. Damn, those Honda generators are expensive, maybe worth it with camo. :) Nice looking Jimmy there. Mr. Green, I have always been a fan of the double entendre. :rolleyes...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using protection?

Recently got back from a week long hunting trip with friends who had brought along one of those $79 Harbor Freight generators. After three days my batteries were only down to 3/4 but I decided to plug in. Watching that little Chinese 2 stroke snort and belch got me thinking about...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks/2012 GMC 2500HD/2012 Toyota Tundra

You are far better off putting your Hawk on a 3/4 ton truck....so get the GMC. I concur. After 3,000 miles on my new truck and Hawk I am a happy camper. Handles the camper great with no air bags etc. needed what so ever. Probably the biggest thing I notice is the braking power, absolutely no...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Truck gearing

If diesel, the only choice is 3:73 with the GM twins. If gas, I would go 3:73 as Mr. Rubin suggested. With the new 6 speed transmission the low gear is equal to the old 4 speed auto with the 4:10. If you were going to tow HEAVY (think big 5th wheel or trailer), I would probably go with the DMax...

The fridge works better than I had hoped. You basically set it and forget it. No need to worry about what angle you parked on anymore. I just finished a 6-week trip to the Colorado Rockies.....and hit numerous bumpy crappy jeep trails. The camper really got pounded on this last trip. The...
