RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A couple of option questions

Bob, I don't know how you found that in the FWC web site. I just wasted another 10 minutes of my life trying to find that link in there on my own, but......I'm not sharpest knife in the drawer. I hope that with all the campers we are buying they can afford to start over with that mess.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Remove Tailgate, Yes or No?

I just visited both FWC and ATC web sites and in their question and answer sections they recommend leaving the tailgate on. I would leave it on. https://www.allterraincampers.com/faqs.htm FWC link A couple of other points which may or may not concern you: You may not be able to access your...

WOW! That's sure a good reason not to but Firestone tires. Are they some of those 'Killer" Firestone tires from years ago? Frank Well they about killed me that day, but no that particular tire was never recalled. BUT it was the same model, Wilderness AT I think, that did some serious damage...

Are you the original owner of that tire? If not that tire looks like a retread. See how the tread has pulled away from the tire carcass, that is what you see on "semi" truck tires.Anyway that would be a bummer, out in the middle of nowhere. Tires are very important. The Michelin should be a lot...

Yeah, I know. But tires are the only thing that touches the ground. I should say, if you are going off-road then you will want better tires. If you are staying on the pavement then OE tires will work fine. I did order a upgrade on the tires from all season to all terrain. The trucks I saw on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A couple of option questions

Skip the opening back window. When its open its in the way and if you take it out, its a pain to put back. That is what I was thinking from looking at the pictures. Just saved $175, I owe you a beer. Wish they still had the slider. About the fan. Yes $600 is nuts for the 6600. The basic FF 3...

x2 First thing I would do to a new truck is put on better tires. OE tires are usually pretty bad. Come on, your killing me. New truck, new camper and you want me to dump new tires and spend a grand on new tires? My 401k hates you. :D

Finalizing my order for a new Hawk and have a couple of questions: I'm going with the 110L Waeco frig and there is a option for a $50 frig vent fan. Necessary for the cool Rockies weather? Front opening window? Looks to fold down and back to be right in the way? My previous...

Rear axle traction adding device. My first choice would be an ARB or similar selectable locker. Most limited slips don't, second choice would be a Tru-Trac. The old GM "Gov-Loc" was a great idea, but was too fragile. On GMs with the off road package the Eaton G80 rear locker is included. Is it...

Edo, The new GMs now have 36 gallon tanks on the 6.5' bed crew cabs. I went with gas so no after market anyway. I think height wise I am okay with the garage but I just realized the truck is probably going to be 6" too long. Damn! Mr. Green, The factory nav was $2200 plus a monthly...

Air bags. I know it is a 3/4 ton -- but the Chevy trucks ride nice for a reason. You don't need it for the load capacity, but you might want them for the leveling ability. I was debating a 3500 but.......good point on the air bags. Actually I hope it drops a inch or two. I have a 8' garage...

You are correct about no drop in liner, but Line-X is a spray in type liner. I will edit, thanks.

My vote would be: To be substantially under the maximum GVWR, which wasn't a choice in your poll. I was a Boy Scout though, you know that be prepared thing. I just ordered a 2500HD for my soon to be ordered Hawk. The payload capacity of that truck is 3,066 lbs. I seriously debated going with...

My link Check out the link above. It mentions 30 minutes. If I get a nice winter day I try to run the bike on the highway for at least 45 minutes, no stop and go. "The best thing to do for a stored car is to visit it once a month and take it for a short drive. This keeps everything in good...

Thanks for noticing! I installed a chunk of 1.5 inch rigid foam board to the underside of the bed in order to add some insulation. It keeps the inside under the big cushion from frosting up during the winter months. Frost? Never thought to even look. Good idea.

x2 Our dog had bad, smelly farts until we changed to a more expensive food. Have always used "expensive" (runs about $40 to $45) foods. Nutro, Nutri Source, no grain, lamb and rice, chicken, large breed, senior etc, etc. Any specific brands or blends? Such a thing as BrandX Fartless? Good...
