RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Remains - A Sierra Nevada Story

Well, I’ve never been to that lake, but I can walk to the university they attend.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Tires Needed

We currently have a year on our Wildpeaks on a ‘08 Silverado through a ski season, quite a few forest roads, and a DVNP trip. We’re building another rig. It’ll have 35/12.5 R17 Wildpeaks. They aren’t as good in the snow as studded Hakkapeliitta’s, but what is? The bottom like is they’re good...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark K2

I think they fall somewhat between your experience at Bundutec and what FWC does. Hallmark does stick to a template, but you can change lots of stuff within that template. FWC has fewer options.

They don't customize in the sense that you can't for example stick a cassette and a shower in a 6ft. model, or change from a side dinette to a front dinette, but there's LOTS of customization possibilities with Hallmark. I had a 9 page build sheet that required multiple inputs on every page.

Beautiful and one of the many reasons not to own a regular RV.

I did get Sync3. I also ordered a winch, which gets a stronger alternator and dual batteries, a block heater, upfitter switches, camper pkg and FX4 pkg. I did all weather mats and a carpet delete. I had a carpet free Element for a time and loved it. I have to get to Denver to get the Hallmark...

Great write up. Sounds like it was a fun trip. We just ordered ours, configured quite similarly. A Hallmark K2 will ride on the back with a Bowen flatbed and upper and lower boxes. It will be a 20" increase in wheelbase over our Silverado/FWC combo. How did it feel in 4WDL?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Making the Most Out of a Raven Shell - 1

I used these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J6R47HW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details In the second to the last picture. You’ll see the “floor.” I took two paint sticks because they’re so thin, drilled them so they didn’t split and dropped three screws into each right through the cloth...

I think I figured it out. I thought the limit was 500K per image, which I resized to. I'm guessing though that it's 500K TOTAL for all images in a post. Went back and edited. Thanks! All in all it's pretty functional for such a small rig.

I added a IOTA charger. The 15a NOCO interface has 2 female ends, so we can go 110 direct with the unused one if we figure out anything that we need to plug in. We also added a Victron clone shunt monitor. That's the little bird's nest of wires to the right. I didn't want to shorten a bunch of...

We added some cheap, but very functional internal skeleton soft cabinets. I attached the lower by screwing through two paint stirrers before putting the cabinet "floor" back on. I first tried just stapling it, but the sticks keep it from being floppy. The upper is attached with industrial...

The previous owner added the flip down seat with a home made cushion. I had a custom cushion matching one made for when it's down. We have a bamboo mattress that covers that whole width where my wife sleeps. Still plenty of room to access a port-a-potty at night!

We didn't like the way the sink looked. We weren't using the back curtain, so we repurposed it to cover the lower cabinet and prettied up the edge of the marine board with step molding. We carry a Iwatani grill in the lift top storage area above the heater.

After looking at the Scout campers, we knew we wanted a sink that drained, but were fine without running water. There was already a marine board counter from the previous owner. I added a sink with a drain and a camco exterior drain.

For the exterior we added a Mule bracket that let us add both a ARB awning and a AT jerry can holder. It usually stays on the truck, full.

This is the truck we bought used with the FWC. The Silverado is a 2008 1500 LTZ and the Raven is an '18 shell. It came with a heater, thermopack and nothing else. No solar. No shore power. Alternator charging only. This thread is a little recap of what we did to make it pretty well suited for us.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Insuring a FWC through USAA

I called today and asked that it be named, as @Wallowa's is, under camper body. I got the kind "it's already covered" spiel, but I nicely persisted. She tried to add it as a towed vehicle, but I said it was inappropriate. She drilled down and finally found it. It is now named, with the same...

Yes, like the Mule awning mount, it’s designed to mount to FWC Jack brackets.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AT Overland Fuel Can Corner Bracket

Yes, I'm keeping the little piece under. It doesn't attack to anything because without lifting the camper, you can't get to where it would attach. I don't have jacks. To stop any swing, I drilled a small hole into the bottom side of the holder and larger hole into the thickest part of the angle...

The bracket has been updated. It's now raw and looks like stainless. Seems a little too shiny and heavy to be aluminum, but it might be. Hope the pic attaches.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AT Overland Fuel Can Corner Bracket

We just added Mule awning mounts. Our AT Overland jerry can holder will mount directly to it without the AT bracket. I was going to throw the bracket away and then I remembered I paid for it and was sort of aghast at what they were charging. Turns out it was $88!!! It's only 90º aluminum with 6...
