It's not a loose turnbuckle issue. I have never found them loose in the 15k miles I've hauled this around. I think it is really just not an ideal tie down system and thin truck bed. Nissan does show in the manual that you can use a truck camper but they do not show how to secure it.
Before...
I was having a similar issue in my Nissan Frontier (2016) with a Fleet. At all four corners, the spot welds starting to come up. Mainline Overland installed the camper last year, and they took a few hours to install larger plates top and bottom with a second bolt (other than the eyebolt) to...
Badtoytrd,
Nice job on the screens,
Is the plastic mesh something like Phifertex, and then you add a second layer of no-see-um mesh? We made some last year out of regular home fiberglass mesh and velcro, the only issue I ran into was that I used adhesive 3M 3/4 velcro and stuck the hook side...
I have a 2016 Frontier CCLWB and added leafs, but the air bags really help leveling things out. My understanding is that they limit travel. Post up some pics!!!
On my '17 Fleet Shell, the one in the plug that is not covered is the positive, see photo. I tested this with a battery and confirmed it with the red wire in my battery box.
Foxen Tec,
My 2017 Fleet Shell has an SAE plug on the roof and back wall. I am installing 2 100 watt Renogy panels and splicing the provided plug from FWC to an adapter from Renogy. You can find a factory made SAE to MC4 on Amazon or just make your own.
I am running 2, 1.5 aluminum angles...
If you go with the t-slot like the 80/20, you could use rectangular head bolts for quick installs, they come in lots of lengths too. I have L- track on the inside and use it for rings, to tie things down, there are really limited fittings for L-track. The bolt on version is only 1 size and one...
I am considering something similar. Some of the flat beds have two parallel tracks off the back, I think they are are heavy steal.
I have a shell and may experiment with running two 80/20 aluminum T-tracks along the driver side between the jack brackets.
We have our FWC Fleet Sheel on a 2016 Frontier SV Crew LWB (6ft bed). It hauls great, Mass to Florida, Mass to Glacier NP and back, then down Nashville for the eclipse. Lots of power, cruised fine through the mountains with no problems. Cab is comfortable for family of 3 and sometimes a large...
^ Agreed. I moved one of mine to add an awning. It was bedded only with butyl tape. Aaron at FWC is helpful if you call. He mentioned only to use urethane caulking outside. I think 5200 is too much, I have used it on boats, there is no way to undo it, it is that good.
My 2017 Fleet shell has a cutoff switch, and a battery isolater from truck, not the Iota and no shore power. The description on the shells tells you what they have and what options are available. .
Unfortunately, Renogy's 150 still will not span the tracks. So I will buy some Z or L aluminum at my local Metals Supermarket and install the 100W panel on the aluminum across the Yakima tracks. After reading more, it seems like 100W won't quite cut it between shade, angle, latitude, etc. So...
