RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bunk Head Room – Fleet VS. Hawk

I'm 6' 2" so I ordered the additional 2" height when I got my ATC Bobcat. My wife is shorter so I didn't think it would make much difference to her, but it does, for the bunk height. We like to sleep with our heads toward the center of the camper, which means a reverse maneuver after you crawl...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West HELP getting in and out of bed

This works for my wife. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050EIUOY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I had to cut it to length to fit the camper. My wife has shorter legs than I do, so she needs the extra steps to get up.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Turnbuckles, oh those darn turnbuckles

When Marty installed my ATC Bobcat he told me to install the turnbuckle with the mark down. Then it would be righty tighty lefty loosely.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima track bolts ?

At rack attack in Portland they sold me the Yakima slide-in flat nuts for one dollar apiece. https://www.rackattack.com/info/stores/portland/ They are 6 mm. I couldn’t find an inexpensive source online.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Dollie

Your dolly has to be a little higher than the distance from the floor to the camper bottom when the camper is as low as it will go sitting on the jacks. So it depends on the length of the jacks fully retracted.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nissan Frontier 4x4

I remember something else, for those looking at 2005-2010 Frontiers. There is a known issue with secondary timing chain tensioner. The symptom is an engine whine. You can read about it on www.clubfrontier.org. My 2008 had the problem and I knew about when I bought it. The truck was still a good...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nissan Frontier 4x4

We like our 2008 crew cab long bed V6 2WD with Bobcat shell. Plenty of smooth power. MPG with camper is 18-20 on long trips, so I’m happy with that. It rides fine with Ride Rite air bags and E rated Tires. I haven’t done any off-road, so I can’t speak to that. Payload rating isn’t great, but I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bobcat prototyping build

So far it is just my wife and I using the camper together. We don’t really store our clothes in the camper. We each have a small duffel bag that goes in the backseat of the truck so we can get to it while we’re traveling. Then when we camp we just throw the bags up on the bed, until we pull the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bobcat prototyping build

I'm finally getting around to completing the walk through of my Bobcat build. Life gets busy. Here is the counter. It is 1/2" baltic birch core with plastic laminate top and edge. I found some light color laminate at Home Depot. I wanted to keep the interior from getting too dark. It is...
