RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fridge fan photos

Bosque Bill. My mod works great for me. I have a 2013 Fleet too with a 65L 2-way. Adding the small fan and vent was the key to exhaust heat from the coils. I added some screening which keeps the rain and mosquitos out. So far no rain penetration. IMO opinion you may not need multiple fans or a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fridge fan photos

Desert Dave. Good thread. Long weekend with chores complete and no road trip (avoiding crazy holiday crowds) so I decided to add an exhaust fan. I have a Fleet with a 60L fridge that is the primary energy "sump for my FWC. I popped off the cover and traced the fan wires to the electrical...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West PEX PIPING REPAIR

Super Doody - I assume the PEX fitting failed since it was the first one downstream of the water heater. The 120V and12V receptacles, 12 V monitor panel, and fuse box are all within a few inches. Some water got on the wiring, but I noticed the pump running continuously and caught it before...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West PEX PIPING REPAIR

Thought I would share a unique repair that I haven't seen discussed on the FWC forum. During a trip to DVNP I had a right angle PEX fitting shear. I had driven Harry Wade Road and had not taken any severe jolts. I called a local FWC dealer and the cost to to "look" at the repair was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air Rescue Helicopters

I thought about this thread during a January trip in Death Valley. I was headed north on Harry Wade Road and hadn't passed a soul since leaving pavement. I noticed a helo circling and finally land on the road. Motorcyclist had wrecked and needed a MEDEVAC. I'll bet that cost more than a few...

WTW crew - Spent the weekend at the Carrizo National Monument. Concur with comments regarding the campgrounds....crowded. Elkhorn Road was highlight. Quiet and plenty of places to boondock. Have fun out there! Rattlesnakes are active. :o I was hoping for an earthquake for a good story...

Occidental - Great report. Has me revved up for my DVNP run next week. Plan to enter from the south up Harry Wade road and up the west side. Hope to get up Johnson Canyon to camp. Refuel in Beatty, Titus Canyon and exit north through Big Pine Road. Yee Haa!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Connector not Flex solar panel the cause of problem

Ran into the same problem. Noticed the voltage drop to zero intermittently off my two flat panels. Turned out to be the MC 4 connector wire to the fitting hadn't been crimped sufficiently. Wind on the wires or movement resulted panels disconnecting. Drove me nuts trying to figure it out. Lesson...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing Flexible Solar Panel

DonC. I removed my panels that were glued with semi-permanent 3M by starting with a box cutter, then wedges as Alano suggested along with a 18" kitchen knife. Long kitchen knife was the key. I'll have to clean up the residual glue on the roof once I receive new panel.
