RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hiatus Campers

Thanks okiedavid. Interesting setup the topperezlift. Sold the tacoma and Hiatus. Gladiator in hand, I have decided to build a camper. Looked at both foam with fiberglass over it, and plywood. Plywood a bit heavier, but easier for me to build and modify. Flatbeds to expensive for my taste...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Going to a Class B

congratulations to you both!!!! I am younger, but headed that way myself. Never have liked the walk around, fabric walls and lack of "stuff" space, with the chevy/northstar. Maybe after a trip down Baja this coming winter, I'll switch it up

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Illegal Grow in Death Valley

Dang. Never would have thought of in NP. Have seen remnants in N forest and timber company land. In fact one of fears when riding to dead ends on forest land when close to big city. But in NP? And such little precious water....

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Boondocking/Dispersed Camping in Olympic National Forest

How did it go? Planning similar for this summer. Only been to the peninsula a few times. Seemed pretty bottled up, as is most places within 100 miles of a big city. Can sometime find wide spot on a logging road, but no guarantees, and tree farm not to interesting after a few days....

Just back from 3 months doing just that. Organ pipe very nice, Campground pretty full but able to get space mid week. Spent night in rv park in why, in order to store trailer, while touring organ pipe. Quartsite and all of western az, eastern cal, full as I have seen in last 4-5 years. In spite...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West CB Needed?

Found same thing in Idaho industrial logging areas last summer. loggers said I was crazy running around with out cb. Bought hand held and dash mount professional installed. All down I-5, wa to Bakersfield, heard only a few truckers. Used frs/gmrs on Camino and hole in the rock rds. But will...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hiatus Campers

The best laid plans; I picked mine up last November, and headed for Az in Jan. Only camped 5 nights in it as had the Northstar along as well. 3 nights on the Camino del Muerte, and two in moms driveway! (tried adding pic, but says file to big?) Great little rig. I kept it bare, as less to go...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West the owners manual says to use 4x4 once a month

Interesting Jim, that he says to come to a stop. Seems like that used to be the suggested/preferred method. Now they say on the fly ,anything under 50 mph or so. Personally I won't go over about 5 mph , worrying about all those expensive gears. Come to think of it, I believe my 2015 Silverado...

Very cool WJ. Here in western wa, we have Annas year round. Rufous move in about mid March. Annas have one brood, and then decamp (for higher ground, go north?) about mid May. Returning for the winter about October, as the rufous are heading south. I've heard of Annas spending the winter as far...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West the owners manual says to use 4x4 once a month

I look at it like our human body. If we don't move every so often, we : get rusty dry out tires go flat seals fail don't get lubed mice/squirrels build nests get sun bleached snow/pollen/dust builds up,,,,,,etc This is, unfortunately, the longest my rig has sat in front of the house. I still get...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Modern Ghost Towns of BC, CA

Not a ghost town, but probably former logging camp, judging by abandoned pier, cables, and log yard. Road from pier to yard was down to a path, so probably logged in the 90's? A few years ago my wife and I paddled from Campbell river to Pt Mcneil. Without exception, all our camping spots were...

Good point lucky Dan. All the gearing needs to move as well. Which goes to your question rubberlegs. I didn’t even think about 4 low. But imagine it could use the exercise also.
