I like to think of hi milage trips like those as broad overview trips. Good to get an idea of areas you haven't seen, places you may or may not want to go back to. Or your just going to one spot or "moms" and spending your time there. But hard to spend the time to really appreciate any given...

We might be game 2. Its all new to us. Want to see and experience as much as we can. depending on the weather, we;ll have a couple more weeks in utah, before dropping down to chaco or cyn de chelle. Love to do the burr trail, ferry and capitol reef. Will have to research the Abajos, beef basin etc

Sounds like a great trip Steve, good way to access the river w/o outfitters. b e interesting to see how far up the dirty devil can get also. I'll try to swing that way in oct and take a look. May have to bring a kayak down in march and give it a go. Keep us apprised.I'll do the same
