RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck Camper Magazine published a fun article about my family.

I guess the word is out that DrJ, 97grandby and 68 Siesta are related. A big thanks to truck camper magazine for doing the article on our family. And a special thanks to all of you who contribute to WTW - you've been a constant source of help, insight and ideas to fuel our truck camping passion.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West GMC TPMS (Standard or not?)

When I switched from a 2500 Chevy to a 3500 Chevy I lost the tire pressure monitor system too. I asked my dealer about adding it on and they told me they did not have a kit for the 1 tons to do that. The dealer told me the same thing about the GVWR that PJorgen stated too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar Panel / Yakima Tracks

I have loved having the tracks on my camper. I use them all the time. They now hold my solar panel and maxx trax. And I can carry by canoe around too. I think you will love the addition.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Atwood On-Demand Water Heater

I'm not sure if anyone has ever done this mod. I've seen lots of exterior on demand water heaters but never a direct replacement. I'd love to see pictures of how it works if you end up doing it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buying used Hawk - please help us pack for first trip!

Bring an extra battery or two for the drill. I can go through more than one battery taking it off my camper dolly and putting it on the truck.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buying used Hawk - please help us pack for first trip!

2 year old camper with only 6 nights in - that sounds like a winner. The propane can be used to run your outside stove. We do that for time to time. The mattress density has improved over the years and is much better. You won't know if it works for you until you try it out - but my 2015...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawks Side dinette and adult sleeping room

I have owned a side dinette in a grandby - longer camper but the same length of a bed as is your hawk. The side dinette would not sleep an adult comfortably in my opinion. It would work for a 10 year old or younger kid but it's narrow and awkward to sleep on for an adult. I would not ever...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC New Awning

Stan - will the new awning be able to be retrofitted to current campers? I spoke with Equipt in Salt Lake City today. Sounds like this may be an option to do as a retrofit in the future. They may need some work done developing a bracket to use first. You can be put on a wait list with Equipt to...

Hurray for the Idaho/Wyoming Rally! That would be fantastic and I'd love to come. I've been wanting to go to a rally for a long time but just a little too far away.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West bad battery separator?

Actually some of our members do just that. The SurePower used by FWC can be bypassed by just connecting a wire between the separator, which some members have done before. The real danger is running down power when the truck is off so that you can't drive home. That is the real purpose of the...

I love the full length under the bed storage. That would be a terrific option for the slide in models. Stan - hope you are reading this!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Finally Picking it up! DRE's new camper

Can you tell us more about your trailer and your plans for it? It's a unique design and I'm curious why you designed it that way. I'm assuming it is a custom design?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West An idea for sleeping 4 in a flatbed hawk - feedback wanted!

I love your idea for a bunk bed and highly considered it in my hawk with a rollover couch. But I switched campers to better accommodate all of us - to the Grandby. We have a family of 6 - 4 adults and 2 kids. We can sleep all 6 of us in our setup. Grandby front dinette with a king slide. 4...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacment Thermostat

I bought and replaced the same one Stalking Light used after hearing their reviews on it. Great advice from him and others in that other thread. It seems to work much better than the factory one. Easy change out and inexpensive to do - like $30.
