RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pebble Mine Alaska

As someone with an obvious interest in mining history, and a former exploration geologist and mine employee, I am opposed to the proposed Pebble Mine in Alaska. Sometimes you just have to decide that an area is more valuable for its ecosystem than for the minerals it contains. This is a great...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camping USA State Updates

The back arrow on my browser takes me all the way back to the Oregon main page when I have drilled down to a campsite detail... what if I only wanted to go back one page and check out the next campsite... Other than that I like it. I will use it. After pondering this for a while I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BFG A/T's kinda disappointing?

It gets pretty icy where I live so I always sipe my tires. Seems to make a pretty big difference. IMO my BFG's have performed fine in snow and ice. However, performance in these kinds of conditions is probably subjective given that no tire is going to be perfect when its slick out.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Incident at Battle Creek!

There don't appear to be any logs or the like to bury in the photos. Are you suggesting carrying a built ground anchor? I'd be interested in hearing about relatively lightweight designs for ground anchors. I seem to remember from somewhere (probably expo) that you can bury your spare tire and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Server troubles

I've been having some pretty serious server troubles over the last week. I have some people looking into it but it's been a difficult nut to crack. I hope to have a resolution shortly. Sorry for the trouble!

I'd sure like to see some old mines in that area. Can't make it during that time frame though so I'll be counting on you to post a bunch of photos of the trip when you get back :D

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another 1/2 Ton versus 3/4 Ton Truck Question

I almost got into an accident in my F150 with camper as I was almost not able to stop fast enough in traffic entanglement. No such issues in my 250. If you plan on doing any off-roading at all its probably a good idea to upgrade the stock tires regardless of what type of truck you get. I went...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How hard to take camper off?

In my experience it takes me about 45 minutes to attach the jacks, raise the camper, and lower it on to supports. Leaving the jacks on your camper full time would cut that time in half but I don't recommend leaving them on.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How hard to take camper off?

I use the hand cranks on the jacks, not the fancy drill bit adapters. Those drill bit adapters are pretty simple and cheap. You must be a glutton for punishment :D

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Take photos of those campgrounds! (we'll buy them from you).

Not sure how you intend to do this but have a suggestion. Rather than paying people small amounts each time they add some photos, create an account for each contributor. Then allow that person to cash out their account when they are ready. Someone who infrequently supplies photos may decide to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chinese Solar Panel "Dumping"?

I don't care how much it costs, anything that I can get made in the USA, I buy it, rather than the imports. Last Xmas and again this year, all the gifts I give are USA made. Good for you. If we had a common sense trade policy, this dumping would never be tolerated anyway.
