What kind/brand flatbed did you go with? I just got the Ute. It's pretty basic but it works fine for my needs.

After owning a flatbed for a while, there is no doubt in my mind that it is far superior to the stock bed both for general use and for camper use. After selling my stock bed to a wrecker my total expense was about $2,700. Not bad IMO.

Fantastic! I have really grown to love Nevada as well. Part of the allure is it seems nobody I talk to has ever been to any of the places I am describing to them. One of our last frontiers. Looking forward to the next report!

Oh I just remembered - I think it was Northstar Campers that actually had a privacy enclosure that attached to the roof of their popup. You may be able to find that at their site.

This has been a complaint I've had with FWC in the past. On many of my trips I'm moving every day and I don't want to assemble another tent and then have to dry it out and disassemble it. It makes all the sense in the world for FWC to have a couple brackets on the side or top of the roof to have...

They say its more effective than a gun. I'd really rather not find out myself, though I do carry it occassionally. Wonder how it works on mountain lions. When I worked in Alaska the general feeling with the crews up there was that the spray was a joke. A shotgun was the preferred tool and 44's...

Bear spray isn't going to do much to a Grizzly but I suppose its worth a try in a pinch. If that doesn't work you can always kick the bear in the nuts.
