RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Used Camper Alert Thread

Checking to see if there's interest here before I put it on CL & Marketplace. Hallmark Chucara XL 9.5, unknwn year, Is a project - some structural damage where the LR tie-down eye-bolt pulled out and to the RF corner, cause unknwn - possibly front window leakage. I don't yet have pics of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

We were on Notom Wash Rd on 3/12. It was damp but solid until it suddenly wasn't, and this was the result: I'd estimate that we were about 500 lbs heavier at the top of the switch-backs than we were when we drove off UT24. I still don't have it all off the truck I think that we caught a window...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Cans - The secret Weapon

Two things that I'll suggest. Use a tough coating on it. Like POR-15 (with a UV resistant top-coat) or "Rust Bullet" or similar. The prep for these coatings is absolutely crucial to do exactly as they say to do it. Make sure that it can't move even the slightest in it's mount. I use ratchet...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Cans - The secret Weapon

A couple of years ago a friend stumbled onto some of these wavian cans private labeled by Briggs & Stratton in red. They came with a short nozzle in a plastic clip pop-riveted to the carry handle assembly. I bought two and put one on the rear of the Blanc-Oh! ('96 White OJB). Motoring down I-5...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

The isolator and a DC-DC converter are; very, very roughly; parallel type components. I am unsure of what you want the system to do. I'd say let's start with what you've listed above and work towards the goal of what you want the system to do.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Turnbuckle Question

With the big turn-buckles on our old camper I used safety wire and it worked very well. With the new(er) camper I'm just using the jam nuts supplied on the marine safety line turn-buckles (both LH & RH nuts) and I've not seen these loosen. They are outside of the bed where they're easy to get at.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

I have made several of those jumpers over the years, they're handy. I've also made such a jumper with a momentary switch in the middle of it to use for the remote turning on or off of a circuit. Or for bumping the engine over when running the valve lash. For simple voltage testing I find myself...

I've been collecting "quotes" like that one for a while, and it is just above: Someone called the Kentucky Derby "Amish Nascar" and my day hasn't been the same... in the list.

Happily? Knowingly and deliberately. Too many times a perfectly functioning confuser gets updated and ceases to operate correctly because of their "upgrade". No thanks! ^^^^ How to tell when you're a curmudgeon.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

I run the cables to the battery switch, then the leads from the ACR are run to each battery's terminal on the switch. Makes the install simple and clean.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

Some isolators have the ability to be "forced" to close and connect the batteries. Other's employ a marine battery combiner switch in parallel with the isolator. I have such a system on one vehicle. A 'house battery' and a main starting battery with an Auto-Charging Relay and a battery switch...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

What gauge cable do one of the various cable sizing guides call for? My own preferred guide: https://www.ancorproducts.com/en/Resources I tend to use the 3% Voltage Drop table exclusively, but that can result in an excessively Conservative selection.

I considered there, but Horseshoe has a lot more of the kind of exposure that Lucy was looking down on (even if they appear to have reversed it in direction) and in the long shots twisted to look steeper than it really is (conveniently with no trees to tell the truth!). Frankly either would work...

The snow angles are part of the Snow Angels. Unless your Snow Angel is extremely obese, then they're likely to just be Snow Bends. OK, back on track..... "Doc, I can't stop singing the green green grass of home." "That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome". "Is it common?" "It's not unusual"...

Welcome to the wonders of the Owens Valley. :) There are faucets at the BLM's Tuttle Creek campground near the Alabama's, but they're usually turned off in the winter to keep them from freezing. The faucets in the various County Parks & campgrounds up and down the Valley may or may not be...

Train traffic over that section is pretty high, shouldn't have to wait very long for a train to come along. I once, and only ever once, caught a train going each direction on the loop.
