RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Exterior Shower Faucet

Replaced my 2013 Hawk outdoor faucet with the current Bullfinch version. Ordered from FWC but also available on ebay or direct from www.bullfinch-gas.co.uk. Had to have a stainless steel plate made to cover up the hole from the previous valve. [media]IMG_20190618_145800...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SOLD! Eezi Awn Bat 270 Awning - $825

No regrets. The gain in payload would have been lost if I went with the diesel. Miss the eco boost engine though. Loved the low rpm torque.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SOLD! Eezi Awn Bat 270 Awning - $825

Love the 270 deg coverage but I'm not tall enough to make reaching the zipper without using a small step stool . Guess, I'm too lazy. My wife was not happy with me selling this. She loved the shade over the doorway. My lost, buyer's gain.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installing a used Hawk on a 2014 Ford F150

What ever you do, do not use the factory bed tie downs. They are not rated to handle the load of the camper. I would recommend having a dealer install the bed mounting points or at the very least, install the recommended hardware for the Hawk. Here is a video of that maybe of help...

Not to get rich on this, but I have a shower hose from my 2013 Hawk that I no longer need. I recently converted my original outdoor shower to the current one being delivered. If anyone is interested, contact me and we can work it out.

If the sticker is vinyl, try a hair blower to soften first, then using an old credit card to scrape off.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gluing Yakima Tracks to roof

I have used VHB to secure my solar brackets to the roof of my Hawk and over the last 3 years, it hasn't shown any signs of degradation. I recently made a change in my solar panels and removing the brackets took some elbow grease. I did manage to get them off with no damage to the roof. (I used a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear mounted swing bike rack or front tow hitch bike rack?

Thank you all for your feedback. In the end, I was about ready to place my order for a Yakima Full Swing carrier but had second thoughts of adding another 57#s to the back of the truck. So, I decided to tackle the minimalist approach and mount the bikes on the back wall as done in the post by...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear mounted swing bike rack or front tow hitch bike rack?

I need some advice on carrying my bikes. Never done it with the camper before and I'm looking for advice on the pro's and con's of putting it on the rear hitch with a swing away carrier or getting a front hitch for the rack. I'm carrying two bikes and considered mounting a fork attachment to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low cost DIY Lithium camper batteries.

When I received my shipment, I only did a quick voltage check. I discovered 3 that fell below 3v. If I held the meter to the cell, I could see the voltage continue to diminish. I asked the vendor to replace those cells and they quickly shipped me 5 replacements. I did not do a long term cycle...

Make sure the area of solder is clean. Apply a small amount of flux prior to solder. I used a Qtip. Apply solder to cell without the wire first. Then apply solder to wire, separately. Next touch the wire (with the pre-soldered area) and apply heat. It looks like you don't have enough heat...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flexible Solar panel longevity?

David, the aluminum strip runs the length of the panel, short side. I have three aluminum strips for each panel. The leading edge, middle and back. The strip is attached to the panel via 3M VHB tape. The aluminum strip for the center panel is cut 1" longer on the sides to allow the strip to tuck...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West TorkLift or standard bed install?

Thanks David. The eyebolts were recommended by FWC but I can see using shackles might be a better solution. At least it would eliminate a torquing that might bend the jack stand attachment point.
