RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lithium update

Bill, the Lithium battery I purchased is a 12v 100Ah, for $620. Some Lithiums being sold have fancy cell balancing and battery management systems that cost much more due to the electronics included to make the battery more friendly to standard chargers and look like a drop in replacement for a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Morningstar MPPT, Trimetric and much more. SOLD

"SOLD" I just converted to a Lithium system and removed my AGM/Lead Acid charging system. All in excellent working condition. Includes everything to get going with an excellent MPPT controller and the Trimetric monitoring system. Selling as a package for now. I priced everything out new at...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lithium update

I realize the majority of the members here would not normally go down this path, but I though it might be helpful if anyone ever wanted to venture out in the world of Lithium batteries, my experience might help. I've always been a geek and love playing with this stuff. This camper just gives me...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fridge door adjustment Waeco / Dometic

Yes. Just pull out the old. Held in place with some silicone and replace by pushing into a slot that circles the door. I cleaned out the old silicone by using a plastic credit card like tool and put some new one before pushing the new seal back in.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fridge door adjustment Waeco / Dometic

Don, you can buy a new seal. It pulls out of the groove in the door. I purchased mine from a distributor. Called Dometic who referred me to a San Diego phone number. They shipped to me. I don't recall the cost but I do remember it was not cheap. Harv

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Charging from shore power

Don, if you have the factory Waeco refrigerator, it will switch to AC. Thus no draw on the battery and the Trimetric will not show a decrease in charge current.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West roof solar plug/socket weather integrity

I really like the AMSolar Rocker Foot Mount but it's expensive for what it is. I haven't really taken advantage of the tilt and I do have the bars. I think the Renogy Z brackets will do just as well without the tilting. In either case, using the 3m VHB 4950 double stick tape and covering the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porpoising on highway with Hawk shell

I have almost the same setup as you. Hawk on 2013 F150 FX4. Short bed. I agree with most of the comments so far. I've installed, Firestone Air bags, upgraded the tires to E rating, and have Helwig sway bars. Never experienced "porpoising" with this setup. With the camper, the air bags are at...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Interpreting the program instructions to setup Trimetric

Jim, your interpretation of P1, P2 and P3 is correct. Those values determine when the battery is considered to be charged. The Trimetric will monitor the amps in/out and voltage at all times and determine the state of the battery based on those values. As long as the battery is above the P1...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New camper! Looking for solar suggestion 160w or 200w?

I would definitely get the larger panel. Check the specs on the panel, it may be a 24v panel. If so, it will not be efficient with your 12v system (unless you get a MPPT controller). You may need to go to a 150watt (12v) panel or two 100 watt panels instead.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Total Noobs, doing it all wrong

Congratulations on the new camper! I have the same truck (F150 2013) and the removal of the tailgate is a 2 minute job. The camera is connected to the front via a cable connection below near the spare tire. Disconnect that plug and the tailgate can be removed. That cable, goes into the tailgate...
