My son moved his FWC Hawk from 1st gen Tundra to 2011 2nd gen Tundra. No problem with fit, loves it! No problem going to over 200K miles. I have a 2013 Tundra with Hallmark Milner and it handles it well. Love performance, not thrilled by gas mileage.

Regarding sway, none of us mentioned tires. What do you have for tires? I had sway and put BFG 10 ply tires on my rig. No sway! 10 ply is essential for carrying a camper.

I don't recommend an over-the-tailgate set up. You will never get the load right for handling on rough roads and cornering. Either downsize your camper plans to one that fits on a 6.5' bed or get a truck with an 8' bed. If you can find one, a Tundra with an 8' bed would be ideal.

Are your choices 10 ply? I would not haul a camper with less than 10 ply. I use BF Goodrich AT's on my 2013 Tundra with a Hallmark Milner camper. No side-to-side roll and tread adequate for snow. Bill

I recommend BFG 10 ply AT's. The main thing with the camper is be sure to have 10 ply.
