RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A newbie seeks fridge guidance

I have a 2020 Hawk Shell, I installed 200 watts solar panel on the roof (not a hard task). I recently went away from a ice Chest to an. Iceco JP50 and a Bluetti EB70s. I have to original single AGM battery that wasn’t up to the task when new so I only rely on it for lights and the furnace. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Telemark Turns at Timberline

IMHO there is nothing as elegant as a nicely executed telemark turn. That is all we did for many decades. We were actually at Timberline standing in the lift line with Karhu Extremes and Asolo 3 pins when someone exclaimed “Leather boots! Cool!” I knew my time was up. I also remember saying to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Folding/tesescoping Shovel

I carry one of these in my truck full time. We have been using it for over a year around camp etc and it has held up great (my wife even pulled it out to garden with!). If I’m heading to the beach I might grab a long handled shovel. ?? But as far as using it for actual recovery it like my boards...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Understand Trasharoo bags

I don’t have a Trasharoo but I do have an old dry bag that I attach to my fuel can and holder on the outside when I’m out for more than a few days. Like others have said it is used for cans etc, other than those we actually produce very little trash ourselves. The bulk of it is from cleaning up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Interior Pics of ATC Cougar?

Hey Vic, how have those flip up chairs working for you? I just went back to your build post last week and have been thinking of doing the same. Also dealing with a 83 pound black lab!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West More Vandalism of Ancient Rock Art

I’m angry, but my sadness is stronger. I just don’t get people. And if it was kids that is even worse. To have hate like that at a young age.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West (not so) Fantastic Fans

Huh. My 2020 Hawk doesn’t have a temp thingy. Is that an old thing or a different model? I have been thinking of swapping to a Max Fan. Would that solve these issues?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Dimmable LED light removal

Has anyone removed the new (2020) dimmable LED lights? We would like to make them not so white and add some lens gel. I have seen where this was done in the past but my lights don’t look like the ones in the 2019 post. There is no “plug” to remove, they seem to be hard wired and screwed directly...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Change Order

There were things that I would have changed/added but the fee kept me from doing it. I just wonder how much money FWC is loosing with that policy. I realize the paperwork etc is a pain but how long does the initial order sit there before the work on that particular unit starts? It would seem...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding Backup Cam

My 07 Tundra did not have a cam so I got one of the Type S wireless solar ones. It was a license plate mount but I mounted it halfway on the screen door. It’s inside so protected from dust, mud etc and still gets sun. I have had it over a year now and am very satisfied.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Crash Tests

OK, note to self, don’t run into a tree or barrier in my Tundra. At least not with the wife in the passenger seat. It was all pretty darn scary! And interesting to see how different parts were affected like beds, wheels etc. FWC make one to fit a Honda?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The first overlanders

Gee I see the “Tin Can Tourists” are still alive today. . That would be a nice name for a rig if it wasn’t derogatory. Every time I pick up cans and trash at a camp spot now I will think about this. Thanks for the posting. Also I think the real hard part would be wearing a neck tie!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Arizona - Thanksgiving 2021

Oh I don’t know, you’re the writer, maybe “detours”? I don’t think you could hardly call any of that a distraction. And those bee hives! What a joy to see! I think you two have shown perfectly what these rigs are meant for. Thanks for sharing with us.
