RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To old and tired to raise the roof

I just use WD40. I spray the teeth, work it into the gears and wipe up any excess with a paper towel. I'm really minimalist. Even though there may be better products, I just carry 1 can of WD40. I use it for lubricating everything that I feel needs lubrication. One of the interesting...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To old and tired to raise the roof

Struts are not a substitute for the speaker stand, but they certainly help raise the roof once it is half raised. They do very little id anything in the beginning 1/2 of the lift. I personally use the speaker stand and I have more than enough strength to lift the roof without it. I just feel...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To old and tired to raise the roof

I would personally be concerned about this if wind conditions picked up during the night. I wouldn't want to be under the roof it came down. The reason I say this is I've opened up the back door during windy conditions with the roof unlatched and had the roof raise and fall quite easily all...

It's not a huge concern. If/when it breaks the spigot will still work, but you may need to use a pair of pliers to rotate it into the open/closed position. I agree... It's just the nature of an inexpensive plastic component, that is exposed to the elements. It's going to get brittle.

Bill D, Please clarify and explain this statement: "I'm aware that this is component that breaks rather easily if used frequently." News to me but I don't carefully monitor this forum to glean that type of info. Thanks for any and all info. Phil Phil, I only live a couple blocks away...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Freshwater All Metal Drain Valve Replacement Parts and Pics

I'm similar to XJINTX. I use mine regularly to fill water bottles etc. It's convenient. I'm aware that this is component that breaks rather easily if used frequently. I can see that the plastic is a little fatigued. It's a lighter white collar in the stress points. I've been careful to try...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Campfire permit time

Is this something that you require when camping in privately owned campgrounds in California, or is writing permission given when registering for the campsite. This is something that I'm not accustom to. When camping in Canada National parks, wood is provided, but you purchase a campfire...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Steps

There is a sign on the BC ferry that reads... "Face the front or face the consequences". I always says this to my GF when she comes out of the camper in the dangerous direction :) I hope you didn't hurt yourself.

Clearly he's in it for the long haul, as evident by the extra jerry can of diesel. Likely he's going to be hitting the Denali.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB Four Wheel Hawk/ ATC or Similar near Alberta

I have my 2013 Hawk on a 2009 GMC Sierra. My 2013 Hawk was made for a Ford. The tailgate opening at the bottom is a little narrow because the tailgate opening is rounded in shape at the bottom portion. The Hawk squished that portion of the opening a little. I don't care in the least... it's...

Thanks for sharing. I've watched some of your past videos as well and thoroughly enjoyed them. I like how your shots have a shallow depth of field while keeping the subject in focus. I can't imagine that is easy to do with wildlife.

Good luck with the project. Keep us posted. Personally I would just get a tarp. You can get good quality ones 50 mil that will last many years or inexpensive ones that you replace every couple years.

I'm sure you will have a quick sale and the new owner will appreciate the savings. I appreciate your direct style and I don't see any demands other than the option to pick it up in Alaska, or pay $1000 shipping to Seattle. Seems reasonable to me. I would however try to get the jacks together...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC mattress

I love the firm mattress in my 2013 Hawk. While I agree it's firm. It'a all personal preference. Just wanted to chime in as not everyone dislikes it. Of course the people who do dislike it are going to be more vocal about it than the people that like it.

I have the Brophy step as well and I really like how solid it is. I take mine off when traveling. I wrap it in a small, thin furniture pad. It fit in the back door opening quite well with a full kitchen and a roll over couch. So no issues with the width. It is a bit of a beast. What I do to...
