I'd look at the cattle drive as a bonus. Cool :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jeep is gone... Duramax GMC Canyon took her place.

Cool Jeep you had Miles! Nice camping set-up for a Jeep. Looks like it is a great setup for nice weather and mobility. You will definitely gain a lot more interior use without sacrificing much mobility with your new setup. Based on what I see is you would be suited for a shell. I would...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installing a used Hawk on a 2014 Ford F150

I would recommend bringing a few 2X4s the length of your truck bed with you. The camper is coming off of a GMC and going onto a Ford. Ford trucks typically have higher bed rails and you may need the 2X4s under the camper to clear the bed rails. Better to have them and not need them than find...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porta Potti Hold Down Kit?

My thoughts went to the velcro strap and D rings that FWC uses to hold the propane tanks in place.

Where we live, diesel is generally cheaper or on par with mid grade gas.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Vic's new truck - 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LBZ

Cool. I like the simple lines on the older body styles. Couple questions. Why did you need to replace the e-brake parts and spare lowering mechanism when these items are rarely used? Was it due to lack of use and maintenance? The Auto-Vox X2 looks cool. I'd like to have one by the looks of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Turnbuckle Question, or Two

In my opinion any tighter than just staying on, is pointless. There are plenty of ways of secure them so they don't back off. You're adding potential energy to the turnbuckles/mounting points, in turn, lowering the amount of kinetic energy the turnbuckle/mounting points will be able to withstand...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West GMC Canyon + Fleet = Family of Four?

I think the biggest issue you will face is going to the bathroom at night. 4 people means both the upper and lower areas will be occupied at night making bathroom use an issue.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installing a Stereo and Speakers

I am very impressed with how good these units sound. Very nice bass and a full rich sound. I know a couple car dealerships that use them to play music on the dealership floor. Re the OPs original thought. I would avoid installing a BT car audio deck. You'll likely want to reserve your...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victoria Day In Canada..Lots of traffic?

The May long weekend (May 17-20) is when our Canadian camping season kicks off. Most campgrounds are dead or closed until then. Mt. Robson won't be nearly as busy as Jasper. I wouldn't worry about the crowds at either on the 15th and 16. Traffic is not an issue at all. Jasper closed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West EBay...never again

From what I read on Amazon, they only do free return shipping if the product they shipped you was defective or they shipped you the wrong product in error, otherwise the consumer pays return shipping to Amazon. Have you experienced otherwise?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Aluminum body F-150 and F250 and Steel eye bolts.

As indicated above, zinc plated steel is used. The zinc coating is sacrificial. As Paul mentioned, you could take it a step further by isolating the bolts from coming in contact with the aluminum bed.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WARNING: Firestone Airbags Have No Warranty When Used with DayStar Cradles

Good to know. I can think of a few ways a non stock suspension could damage the bags, so it's understandable, that warranty may be void. ie. suspension travel greater than airbag was designed for. That being said it sounds like Firestone is being a bit harsh as far as a claim goes. I'm glad...

I had to laugh a bit when I read this post on one of the sites regarding etiquette. Keep in mind they were referring to an RV park: Campfires that smoke up neighbors rigs and you can NEVER get that smell out! I do not think that fire pits, rigs etc. should be allowed at campsites! ---- I...
