RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Building a Thinsulate thermal pack

Great job! You should notice additional benefits such as less noise and light. We often stop at roadside rest stops. Often there are bright overhead lights and sure enough some truck driver will pull up in the middle of the night and run the truck all night. Having a thermal pack makes a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Where are my f******n pliers?

That tool is pretty cool if you can remember how to use it. I'm sure with a bit of practice it wouldn't be too difficult, but best to bring along a set of instructions as well. Cool.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone gotten the "Go Anywhere Package" recently?

https://www.amazon.com/Rieco-Titan-Products-TST-129-Plated-Adapter/dp/B005GOPC26 Thanks for the link David. You've inspired me to get my Dremel out to complete the task on a $1 socket.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone gotten the "Go Anywhere Package" recently?

I'd like to have a drill bit for the jacks. I started to modify a socket with a hacksaw, but never completed the task. I had a collapsible grey water tank, but it sprang a pin hole leak.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mosquito Repellent

On the topic of mosquitos. A Tim Hortons tray works very well as a makeshift mosquito coil. It's incredible how it burns at a controlled rate and gives off a fair amount of smoke.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Problem lifting roof.

It can be done, but it needs to be done slowly. On a side note opening the roof vent ahead of time is a good idea. I've had times where wind etc has closed the back door while lifting the roof. It's not a great position to be in. If the vent is open, you can slowly finish or abort the lift.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Heater Is not working

I prefer the analog thermostat. I have a spare digital unit that I chose not to install. I like being able to reach down from bed to make a minor adjustment without having to see what I'm doing. I actually never look at the temp setting. I also like the no battery thing being our temps get...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Heater Is not working

Same thing happened to my thermostat. Understandable given the wire is moving back and forth each time you adjust the heat. I fixed it with a crude soldering job. It works. If it fails again, I'll do a better job.

Take a look at this document. It should help you to troubleshoot the issue. http://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/hflamefurn04.pdf There is quite a bit going on in a furnace, but if you understand the sequence of operation and what each component does, you may be able to troubleshoot the issue on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West More Power! USB Charger upgrade for the camper

Nice job. Too bad the factory ones apparently aren't 4.8 amps to begin with. Seems like more of an oversight than a cost savings. The price point on 1A and 2.4A chargers is negligible.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Question for Canadian FWC owners

Do you have information to back up this statement. I contacted Transport Canada when an attendant refused to fill my DOT certified tank in Canada because it did not have TC (Transport Canada) designation on the tank. I also enquired about recertification and that is not an option either.
