RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Moved my Hawk from F150 to Tundra

How do you like the Toyota compared to the older Ford as far as carrying the camper is concerned?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2012 Hawk

18,000 CAD is about 14,500 USD right now. I've seen models 10 years older listed for $10,000-12,000 CAD There just aren't very many available in Canada. I would list at 18,000 CAD and see what happens. You need to be more specific on your options list though. It's the options that can put...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fire ring anyone got ideas

Definitely interesting, and expensive. Sorry, I had never seen one until your video link. It would be super cool if these were allowed to be used during fire bans.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West fresh water petcock drain valve

I think this would be a great project. Very seldom do we use the sink (other than as a temperary trash can ) We use the drain valve all the time for filling water bottles, pots of water etc. It is a tad slow. It would also be nice to flush the water system faster or drain after a trip...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane, woe's! Hopes this helps some one

I learned this by chance, when hooking my Coleman stove up to the 10# bottle. I have to crack the valve slowly. I had a similar situation happen with the Hawk. Both of the 10# tanks had just been filled and only one would work with the camper. I burnt a bit of pressure off of one of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

Regarding the camper warranty, I have also felt it a bit weird that the warranty was only for the original owner of the camper, but that is how is has been set up for at least 15 years +. It was like that for the 15 years I worked here for Tom, and maybe Ben Bernette had it that way too, before...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

Hi Stan. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I haven't been to your factory, so whomever you offered to do a fix for, wasn't myself. I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Approx 1500 miles from your shop. Regarding the propane tanks, I had email correspondence with Roy Dye at FWC. He...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

Wonderful, not only do I have a corrosion issue, I have an electrical issue. It just keeps getting better. Thanks for the advice Squatch. I wonder why FWC would say they've never seen anything like it. It doesn't sound like I'm the only person who has every had this issue. It would have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

I have no idea what the issue is. My camper doesn't leak to my knowledge. It's strange to watch it grow. It will start with a bump forming from the underside of the metal. There is no sign of a rock chip or ding in the area. It will grow like a pimple and then slowly spread outwards and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

Oh well, it's not the end of the world. It just money right <_< I'm just disappointed. FWC had an opportunity to make things right and they made their choice. If this is how they want represent/run their company, so be it. I honestly believe it will cost them more in the long run. The...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Warranty - corrosion, service and propane

To say the least, I'm unimpressed with FWC both in terms of product quality, company product research and customer service. -FWC factory warranties are not transferable 2.1. Who May Use this Warranty? This limited warranty extends to the original consumer purchaser only. It does not extend...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West fresh water petcock drain valve

I just replace mine with a $4 valve from Camco. This one is both 3/8" and 1/2". The 3/8" is the portion that I used. If yours is 1/2" just cut off the 3/8" portion. Very simple to install within 5 minutes. 2 screws and a hose clamp. Just have some plumbers putty on hand to replace the old...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Speaker stand.

I personally don't mind cranking manually. I too enjoy the space savings. 50 cranks is no big deal. I like the idea of being in control. There has been the odd time when something didn't quite feel right ie. forgot to undo a latch. I likely would have done damage to the roof with a drill...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Speaker stand.

Each end separately. I personally do the back near the door first. I have a roll over couch, so I do it from a seated position. It takes 50 cranks. Pretty quick and easy.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Speaker stand.

I would leave it as is. The one the FWC ships is exactly the same. The reason I would leave it is it is, there is no effort to lock the lift panel in place when there is only 3/4" of an inch to go. If you crank more than the roof is intended to lift, you risk damaging the roof. You could put...

If FWC fibreglass models were prone to delaminating, I'm sure we would have seen a post on it with a pic. To my knowledge there haven't been any.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Does anyone truthfully have airbags that don't leak?

I've had mine Ride Rite bags on for 2+ years now. I only top them up with air every couple of months and I daily drive the vehicle. I did the install myself. I was extremely careful to make straight cuts and use a brand new blade, when doing the install. I tested for leaks with soapy water...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3 way frig. vs. 2 way

I enjoy my 3 way fridge as well. Turn on propane, turn on fridge, set to auto or gas. I usually have it set on setting 4/5 and I find things are nice and chilly. On setting 5/5 things can start to freeze. I don't need a inclinometer, thermometer, or a physics degree to know it works well for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chevy/GMC rear bumpers compatibilty

I believe Ford has GMC beat on both accounts. I'm sure the GMC step is handy. Personally I just step up at the license plate which is the exact same height. Where the GMC design shines is if you are pulling a trailer or you have the tailgate down.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chevy/GMC rear bumpers compatibilty

I wonder what most people think of the look of the bumper step GMC built in? I personally think it was GMCs knee jerk solution to Ford's tailgate step. To me, the beauty of most trucks, is it is one of the last vehicles on the road, that still has a beautiful traditional chrome bumper.
