RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Question for Canadian FWC owners

The propane line runs on Canadian manufactured models are run outside the body of the camper in the case that a line ruptures it vents to atmosphere. The tanks should also have TC designation (Transport Canada) as opposed to DOT tanks in the US. I believe there is also an issue with Canadians...

I'd like to see a pic of that if possible. I bet it's awesome/beautiful. I'll be heading to the Vancouver Island in 25 days. I'm assuming you are referring to Campbell River, BC.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Still have something you had as a kid?

I have a few things that are about 40+ years old (I'm 47). Things that come to mind are: -scrapbook of my life -coin collection -toolbox I made in school ( I bet a few of us still have one) -ghetto blaster with original box I kept my BMX bike up until my father made me give it to a nephew. It...

We can answer anything you need to know. This thread would be is a great resource for pricing. I'd look at it in reverse chronological order until you get a feel for prices. Used Pop Up Thread Once you have a general idea, then you can begin to ask more specific questions.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Staying Cool Without an Air Conditioner

You have 4 large screen windows a screened egress window and a roof vent, so 6 in total. In addition to that some members have made screens for their turnbuckle doors. Ventilation is not an issue in a FWC. As others try things out first. I have the arctic pack inside my FWC year round. That...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is slight misalignment of camper a reason to reload?

If it's out by "an inch" I'd realign it. As others have mentioned it's quite easy to do and you may as well get used to doing it. I've loaded and unload mine solo plenty of times on ice, gravel, uneven terrain etc. You can easily single handedly move the camper an inch or two in any direction...

You could sew and sell these into your retirement years. They'd ship well with minimal postage rates.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Long time lurker now a member

Welcome Annie, Thanks for finally joining, your lurking was kind of creeping us out. Very nice looking set-up. I'm guessing you do not have E rated tires. I highly recommend them. It's like the difference between a beach ball and a basketball. If you are not using your Yakima racks, I would...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Turnbuckle door screens

+1 Very slick, inexpensive, easy to do etc. I like the idea that you can still get at a turnbuckle quite easily if you need to. Where did you pick up no-see-um sized mesh? I also don't quite understand where the plastic canvas comes into play. Is that the faint X that is visible in the photos?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front Dinette or Side Dinette?

We have the rollover couch and no dinette as well. We love this option. We feel much more comfortable being able to lounge around (more like a living room) down below. Having a meal has never been an issue. We have the optional table, but never bring it. Perhaps not elegant, but we're not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Revisiting heavy duty trucks

I live (Edmonton, Alberta). There are 1000's available. As long as you like white. Prices: 10 year old (gas) start at about $10,000 CAD. 5 year old trucks are usually under $30,000 CAD (~60,000 miles). What kind of prices are you used to seeing?

What is the reason for the wood spacer. Does it keep the hood from closing, but not open so much that the under hood light comes on?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper jacks - how often do you roll without?

When sizing your jack, keep in mind that you should be jacking from the rear axle (not the frame) if you have airbags.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Snow: how much is too much?

From FWC FAQs How much weight will the roof hold? The lightweight aluminum roof will hold 1,000 pounds of evenly distributed weight in the raised position (example: snow load of 1000 lbs.). If you plan to carry luggage, coolers, kayaks, canoes, etc. on the roof, we usually recommend...

Don't feel bad Wandering. I recently got my feet measured. One is 12 1/2" and the other is 13 1/2" inches. I find myself walking in circles. :P Best of luck with you sale!!! I need a 13" EEEE to keep everything happy. I feel for you as with our big feet, the selection is often limited.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Snow: how much is too much?

FWC rates the roofs safe limit to be 1000 lbs of evenly distributed weight. They give this number knowing that if can handle more. In my opinion "too much" is a value in between 1000lbs and the point of failure (which is way too much). Regarding judgement, not everyone knows how much snow...
