RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Renogy 100Watt Flexible Solar Kit

Back to the drawing board. I really want a portable setup because it's extremely dusty here, pine and oak pollen everywhere, pine sap, falling branches, pinecones and acorns constantly peppering my truck and camper not to mention the wild turkeys roosting on them. I'll be looking for a folding...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Renogy 100Watt Flexible Solar Kit

I've been thinking about purchasing a portable solar panel for a while and have noticed that Renogy offers a 100 watt flexible solar panel kit for around $280.00. I seldom stay in one place for more than a day or two and only run my Truckfridge and Fantastic fan when cooking so the only time...

Trapper Mike: Finally getting around to installing a 6" conduit storage tube under the roof of my Hawk. Where did you put the footman loops? Are the loops against the front panel just below the corner where it meets the roof? Anything you would have done differently?? Thanks!!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West California Wildland Fire Smoke Information

Great website - thanks!! Was watching the plume from the Donnell fire late yesterday afternoon from Highland Lakes and had no idea where the fire was other than it was due south and pretty close. Several people drove out by 7:00 as no one knew what was going on. Maybe this would have been a good...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West TC Insurance questions, my current provider, USAA, is not doing a good job

Seems like cargo would be considered personal property which generally isn't covered on an auto policy. I agree with you that if there is coverage for personal property it would be limited to items like luggage, clothing, CDs, or vehicle emergency equipment. Then you have your deductible which...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West TC Insurance questions, my current provider, USAA, is not doing a good job

Too many insurance agents will tell you that your camper is covered which is true as far as liability is concerned : specifically, bodily injury or property damage. If you want coverage for damage to your camper you have to have comprehensive and collision coverage on the camper and the camper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mosquito Repellent

I've looked into the Thermacell and the reason I decided against it is that there's 3 parts to it : the device itself, gas canister, and chemical mat. Anything that requires more than spraying on some jungle juice or wiping a skin so soft towelette is too high tech for me.

Hopefully we can get up there early to snag a nice isolated spot. We'll have our packs so we could always hike in a few miles if there's too many people around. Thanks for the info!!

Anyone been to Highland Lakes recently?? A friend of mine needs to get out of the house but can only go August 10-12, so I'm wondering how the crowds are up there. I usually drive my Tundra 4x4 on our trips but he wants to take his Honda Element. Anyone know how his car would be on Highland...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Need your knowledge: Which truck to buy?

I had a 2003 Tundra and 2005 Hawk for several years. The only suspension mod was overload springs and never felt the need to do anything else. The only negative I had were with the brakes. Whether the Hawk was on or off I always felt the brakes were very marginal. I only carry a minimal amount...

I believe it has a turbo 2L and AWD. Fun to look at and think about all the fun and frustrations I had with my Westy. I've read that if they were available the cost would be over $100K - more if we slap a 25% import tax on European luxury cars.
