RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nevada Ancient Rock Art - January 2021

Thanks for another wonderful TR. We all complain about how all the places we loved to visit are ruined by maddening crowds and will never be the same. Your trips give inspiration that there are countless places out there where one can still experience beauty and solitude.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AT Overland fuel can holder - fuel can help.

You can buy the strap for the regular jerry can from AT. They charge a ridiculous $35.00 plus $30.00 for shipping. I ordered one and they shipped the wrong one. They replaced it but shipped it regular USPS vs the FedEX they charged me on the initial order. Funny how when it's on their dime they...

A few folks below me were celebrating right at midnight. I was tempted to join in but decided not a good idea after having a few sips of Basil Hayden. Have a safe year of wandering everyone!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West propex heater, looking for vents?

A quick search and I see a couple of UK outfits that lists the vent. You could always use 2 single fittings available at marine supply co's and mount separately or fabricate a mounting plate to make your own dual port fitting. Good luck!

Marty's son is one of the builders at the shop. He does quality work and hopefully he will keep the ATC brand going when the time comes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2005 Tundra, first major maintenance.

I had the same experience with my 2003 Tundra.... and prior to that I also had an '85 "It'll- Fail- You". I don't think I ever went on a trip when something didn't go out. It made for some interesting side trips looking for parts or a repair shop. After driving out of Chaco Canyon without a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Not sure about all terrain campers

I went with an ATC Panther shell for my Tundra because Marty was willing to build it out exacty how I wanted it. I ordered it with the 2 burner stove and side dinette, solar ready, additional usb plugs, fantastic fan, 2" higher side panels, AT can holder, and 3 gal Roto Pack. The build quality...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How much temperature increase Wave3 heater?

I had a Wave 3 in a previous FWC. Maybe you know this but the Wave heats objects, not the air. If I was sitting near it I felt the heat right away but the heat wouldn't make it's way to rest of the camper, especially to the cabover bed. I never felt comfortable running it for more than an hour...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Widening Side Dinette Bed

When I had my ATC built I had them build the front bench and dinette seat so they would be the same height as the side shelf. On a previous FWC I retro'd in the side dinette and had an upholsterer make the cushions to accomplish the same thing. The shelf doesn't have any padding but adds a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West propex heater, looking for vents?

Is it the thru hull fitting you're looking for to vent the exhaust gas out and the port to connect the fresh air intake tubing? If that's what it is Van Cafe has the 22mm thru hull fitting. You'll want to have Marty install this for you during the build so you won't have to retro-fit it...

Took a trip up to Northern Ca coast last weekend. Spent 2 days at Gold Bluffs. There is now a loop with designated sites and flush toilets and showers. The campground was totally full but thankfully the sites are very spread out. I've camped there several times in the past and don't recall there...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Built-in vs. Portable Fridge

Here's the pics. My Truckfridge draws 2- 2.5 amps in eco mode. I've gone 4 days in mid 90* temps in Saline Valley without charging my 100AH VMax battery. I have a 120v flat panel portable solar charger but seldom use it. I seldom spend more than 2 days in one spot so just charging off my truck...

Don't know if it's an option for you, but I pulled the rear seats out of my double cab and built cabinets to store all of my recovery gear, clothes, dry goods, backpacks, camp chairs etc. My ATC shell has some cabinet space for cooking supplies and bedding. Nothing sits on the floor of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Built-in vs. Portable Fridge

Hi Mel, We just met at Gold Bluffs last weekend. Here's a pic of my Truckfridge TF51 in my ATC. I just have a preference for it over the 3 ways I had in my previous FWCs. My wife and I pack 4-5 days of pre-cooked meals plus beverages in it with no problem. Yes, it is harder to access with the...

I had a 2004 Tundra 4x4/2004 Hawk for a few years and added helper springs to level out the ride. The biggest issue I had was braking was marginal. In 2015 I bought a new Tundra 4X4 Double cab and had 2 different fairly loaded Hawks on it. I added Ride-Rites to raise the rear a couple of inches...
