RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Whatever Bugs You

Great, I'm heading over to the east side Friday the 28th. Saturday the 29th, Bodie stays open till 10:00pm for a night photo shoot. Hope they're not a problem. Guess I'll have to keep lighting in the camper to a minimum....Maybe if I'm lucky this will be over by next week :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

A lonely frog telephoned the Psychic Hotline and asked what his future holds. His Personal Psychic Advisor tells him: "You are going to meet a beautiful young girl who will want to know everything about you." The frog is thrilled, "This is great! "Will I meet her at a party?" he croaks. "No,"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cummins 6.7L Diesel vs. Gas 6.4L Hemi V8

I put about 17K on my 2500 CTD a year. Oil changes are between $50.00 and $80.00 depending if the dealer has a sale. 3 of those a year. Transmission service is about $150.00, Transfer Case about $75.00 and front and rear differentials about $125.00 each. I have all that done at the dealer once...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eastern Sierras & Internet/Cell Access

The Alabama Hills area outside Lone Pine has some cell coverage, depending on your carrier (I use Verizon). Mammoth Lakes area has coverage, Mono Lake area has coverage, no coverage around Bodie. The Bridgeport area has coverage partially up into the Green Creek area. That's all pretty lonesome...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What is this for?

Those holes vent the ceiling from the headliner to the roof. Your ceiling is filled with fiberglass batting and running wire might be problematic. You could remove the wood strips holding the headliner up, run your wire and put the liner back, not a fun task but doable.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

A man is at work one day when he notices that his co-worker is wearing an earring. The man knows his co-worker to be a normally conservative fellow and is curious about his sudden change in "fashion sense." The man walks up to him and says, "I didn't know you were into earrings." "Don't make...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaska Trip - Adding a spare wheel on the roof - ok?

I'll have to agree with Missing Link. I did the trip in 2011, including the Dempster to Inuvik then all over Alaska. 12000 miles total in 11 weeks. I found fuel everywhere (diesel) and never bothered to fill the 5 gallon Scepter can mounted on the back of the camper. I only had one spare, and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West full size suspension upgrades

I have an '07 short bed 3/4 ton Dodge with a Grandby on board. I opted for the Kore Recon Suspension System, and Carli Log Travel air bags. Everything is over 6 years old and holding up just fine. I just went with the 2" lift. I like the Kore Recon system, but I did NOT like dealing with Kore...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rotopax Gas Can Problem

Several years back when I decided to add a fuel container on the rear of the camper I looked at Rotopax but settled on an AT holder with Scepter can. My concern with Rotopax cans was the fact the lid appears to be accessible, and it seems anyone could walk up, remove the lid and siphon the...

Thanks Paul, My Grandby is a 96 and didn't have any kind of a charger/PS when I got it. I installed a 4 stage marine charger 6 years ago and my two group 31's seem very happy.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For Sale Granby Four Wheel Camper

A Grandby works just fine on a short bed by leaving the tailgate down. I've had a 1996 Grandby on my short bed Dodge over 6 years without problem. You just need to find out if an older Grandby will fit your truck depending on the year and what kind of truck you have.

Well, after only 8 months, NAS (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome) has struck again. Last July I picked up a new Nikon D7100 body, and yesterday, I had a friend offer me his year old D800E body for less than half pirce. He has NAS worse than me, he had to have a new D810! I'm thrilled, it only has...
