I'm a whiskey guy. There's a bottle of Angels Envy in the cabinet too. I drink it often, one of the world's 10 best whiskeys and under $40.00 a bottle. Life is good :D

Here's how we protect the motor-home. Might have trouble getting back into Canada, but spent two months there after I retired and experienced the wonderful people, spectacular scenery, crappy whiskey, expensive fuel, and strange brew. Maybe I don't need to go back ;) Just kidding...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Radio portable security system

Sounds like you answered your own questions :) If I were you, I'd go ahead with this system, see if I could mount a roof-top antenna on the truck, and add one or two additional MURS handi talkies so friends with me could also hear the alarm and be able to communicate with each other..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Radio portable security system

VHF will be better simplex in the mountains than UHF. I'd call the folks making the system and ask how much power the handie and the alarm transmitter runs. I just guessed at 2 watts.. might be 5, or it might be 1. With a stated 2 mile range it won't be much. The alarm transmitter looks like it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Radio portable security system

GMRS/FRS frequencies are UHF while MURS are VHF. GMRS radios usually operate through a repeater and FRS radios are simplex and limited to 100 milliwatts with a fixed antenna. You'll get far more range with the MURS radios than FRS. While some FRS and GMRS frequencies overlap, FRS radios are not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Radio portable security system

That looks like a pretty fair system and a fair price. The MURS frequencies are 151.820, 151.880, 151.940, 154.570, and 154.600 which are copyable on any scanner receiver. The ad doesn't say how much power either of the units run for some reason. I'd guess about two watts. What's nice about...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New liner without outer storm flaps?

Before you write off ATC, you might look at the ATC forum on here, and see what people say about their ATC, the construction, and customer service. You'll also find lots of pictures. http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/forum/8-all-terrain-camper-discussions/ I don't own an ATC, nor do I work...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New liner without outer storm flaps?

Take a ride to ATC and check on a new liner from them, They will make you a liner for your Grandby as they did for mine, and they have removable storm flaps, the best of both worlds. BTW, I fly a 210 Centurion.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ATC Manx

Stopped by ATC this morning just in time to see the "MANX" being loaded on a flat-bed trailer. The truck flat-bed wasn't completed in time, so the MANX had to be towed home to British Columbia on the trailer. Watch for interior build pictures this winter from the Great White North :)

Manxman, Stopped by ATC today and saw your camper under construction. Jeff was working on it and it's looking good. Didn't have a camera with me or would have taken a picture. I get by almost weekly, so next time I'll try to remember to bring a camera.

Thanks Andy, Great frog..we can hope they're doing better than here. Almost all Africa photos were taken between 400 ~ 500mm and almost all were taken from a vehicle as we weren't allowed to exit the vehicles. Not good press to have tourists eaten by the critters. I have hundreds more...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West post a *PIC* of your latest purchase (can be anything as long as it is for your camper)

Since tomorrow is my birthday, I whined a lot to my sweetie that, since I had a new camera body, it required better glass due to the higher resolution. She agreed to pay half the price on a new Nikon AF-S 35mm 1.4G prime lens. Great girlfriend! Since my 7100 is DX format, the 35 is...
