RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fire Extinguisher

While I still have concerns about their effectiveness, cost etc, I purchased one today. I let the smoke out of the inverter (no fire) today in the camper (too embarrassed to tell you the details) that's one area where it may be preferable. Small confined area with lots of electrical. Plus I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Venting Turnbuckle Doors

Good job. I wish my doors were like yours instead of sliding. I suppose that could be a future mod.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

Yes, the 10ga is still energized. I think the possibility of the 6ga becoming de-energized is sufficiently low I'm not worried about it. It'd be very easy to disconnect the 10ga if were concerned.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cam straps to keep turnbuckles from loosening?

Straps, double nut, zip tie. A number of ways to make sure they don't loosen.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Summer Scene (and some aren't)

We've been pretty fortunate in having a fairly mild start to Summer. Keeping the flooding from the snowmelt to a minimum.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shock Absorbers For the Extra Weight of a Camper

That was well worth spending an hour. I agreed with most of what he said and the rest is stuff I just don't know about. He'd probably tell me with my budget and needs just go with what you got. I'd like a 2" lift but do I really need one? Probably not. Heck, its got me where I want to go for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

I counted 36 screws (40 if you count the ones I added for the rack). That's a lot of potential leak points. Some people prefer the two piece roof over the one piece. I don't have oil canning but I have resealed the roof twice. If I were in the market for a new camper I'd have to think hard about...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shock Absorbers For the Extra Weight of a Camper

My buddy drove his CJ4B around with no shocks and you could hardly tell. I had the adjustable ranchos and I got rid of them. Rides much nicer with the Bilstein 5100s.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 12v fridge

I'm fairly sure the Truckfridge is just a rebranded indel b and not a "secondary" model. Either way I've been very happy with mine. Freezer keeps stuff frozen, fridge maintains a very consistent temp regardless of outside temps.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC and ATC Comparison (what are the differences ?)

Of course you could always head up to Grass Valley and talk to the boss personally.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

I left the entire FWC 10ga wiring in place when I ran my 6ga wires. Has caused 0 issues for me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Smoke

It's hard for me to imagine how Canada can be burning when we still have so much snow left to melt. Unfortunately local media coverage of anything happening in Canada is poor to non existent. Good luck with your trip.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Doing Dishes

This weekend I fired up the water heater. More days plus adding my part of the group cook I had enough dirty dishes to justify it. Maintenance on my water heater has consisted of replacing the anode. It is getting harder to fire up as it ages.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Doing Dishes

For most trips I won't fire up the water heater, just heat a bit of water in pan. I have a pre treatment that works well but may not be for everyone. The dog. Not much left to clean when he pre treats :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 12v fridge

The National Luna is a fine fridge but you pay for it too. Both my Truckfridge and Engel are still running strong.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Miles per year on your truck camper

Just did the math and it comes out to 10k a year. This year will be less. Truck is getting old and spending too much time in the shop. Crossing my fingers when I get it out (hopefully tomorrow) it'll be good to go for a while.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spring thing

Not here. I was on the phone to the city last night trying to get them to take care of the dog park. Either water and mow or close it down. It didn't take long for it to dry out once the rains stopped.

Looks like something I could whip up in my shed in a few minutes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fire Extinguisher

Always fun to try and determine who is really objective. I'd feel better if they were in use by fire departments, racing organizations etc, as foam is. I guess I'll have to purchase one and do my own testing.
