RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Exterior Amber Light?

Mine is grounded to the siding. Crappy way of doing it. Leads to lots of bad grounds but its "easy". If they're still doing it that way just tightening the bonding screw should do it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wyoming news

I suspect they'll wind up going after only the most egregious abusers. Really hard to tell in many cases just how long someone has been staying.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Exterior Reflectix

Someone else did this with a long bungee holding it in place. Keep in mind reflectix isn't very uv resistant.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Cans - The secret Weapon

Risk management. My Jeep has two fuel cans on the rear. You'll hit the spare tire first but if I get hit hard enough... Not to mention I sit on top of the gas tank :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West campers with bathrooms

My Thetford doesn't stink. You do need to keep the appropriate chemicals in it. I never use it inside except in case of emergency. Of course its true as soon as you sit down someone will come by :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Train Derailment

I'm not far (mile and a half?) from a major line. Fortunately the prevailing winds go the other way but it does concern me. I cross the tracks twice a day to and from the dog park and I watch the tank cars go by every day. We also have a P&G plant nearby which manufactures solvents. Not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Hawk furnace problem.

Unfortunately FWC is too small a player to be able to put pressure on the manufacturer.

Just watched a Frontline special on why bridges collapse. Scary stuff and its not getting better.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Got lucky again

They did fix it promptly and apologized. Re loctited all the bolts. I only had them do my brakes because it was in the shop for the u-joints and motor mounts. I may have to go back to doing my own brakes. I can't claim to be perfect though. I've finger tightened bolts before and then got...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Got lucky again

I'll be headed up to Antelope Lake Monday morning. I had my brakes done three weeks ago. Last night I felt an odd shudder on the way home. This morning crawling around under the truck I found this. Not good that they didn't tighten the bolt but far better to have it happen here than when I'm...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Value of InReach

My condolences to the parties. Hard to say whether they could have could have seen the tree was dangerous or not. I always look for widow makers but this one sounds like it probably wasn't obvious. Very impressive rescue operation. This may even be a case where the ability for two way...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Locked myself out of my camper today.

I wonder if they've changed lock mfg. Other than an occasional squirt of lock lube I've never had an issue with mine.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Venting Turnbuckle Doors

And I "borrowed" the idea from someone else. No, I used the 4" deck plate. Pretty sure that measurement is the inside of the hole, not the overall width.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Venting Turnbuckle Doors

The stuff I used was just standard screen door/window material, but we don't have noseeums here. Still its pretty fine stuff.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tire advice

Makes me wonder how much is the tire and how much is simply bad luck. Perhaps any tire would have gotten a flat in the same circumstance.

Bilstein 5100's can be used on a stock unlifted vehicle. I made sure before I purchased and installed them.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Added a new outlet

I just picked up a table top pellet grill from Pit Boss, a PP150PPG. It needs 110 to run the ignitor and the pellet augur. They do make a battery model but its another $200 bucks. Since I already have an inverter I just need an outlet outside. I opted for a single outlet. The cover spring was...
